FYI, if you have a high credit score and good solid credit history, you can use that to your advantage and leverage your deal better.

Toyota wanted to give me those numbers and I told them no. I wanted 1.9% for 48 months. They said no. I was ready to walk.

Salesman got the manager, he reviewed my credit score and history with the finance officer, they called Toyota finacial, and I got 1.9% for 48 months.

After you make 12 payments they will give you the opportunity to refinance. I'll be doing this on my wife's car next year. We have a higher interest rate on her new car because the car she totaled has not been cleared off of our credit. That will be gone and credit cards will be payed off too. :D

Toyota offered me 6.75% and I immediately said "No way! I can get 5.8 through my credit union". The credit guy said he couldn't budge. So, I ended up going through the CU.

Oh, and when we first met I had to ask him to say his name twice. It sounded like "villan" and I thought that was quite an unfortunate name. I saw his name on some sort of certificate on the walls and it is spelled Vilen. I felt sorry for the guy.

WHAT!? The 3.9, 4.9 and 5.9 is for "people with good credit".
No offence, but it sound like the NJ dealers are more like stealers!
I'll bet their getting a kickback or share of the higher rates.
6.75% is even higher than my mortgage.

If you credit score is that good, 1- Thats awesome! 2 - Investigate your CCs, sometimes they will offer car loans. I have capital one and I'm always getting stuff in the mail or emails for mortgages or car loans from them.
3 - check with your local banks or mortagae company.

Here in Chicago they had Tundras for 0%-48 months! They do that anywhere else?

There were lots of deals on Tundras when I bought my taco, but no deals on tacos. Bummer!
