    They do look sturdy, tons of proprietary mounting solutions. I like how they have a prounounced lip but they do look like they stick way up and increase drag.

    Good advice - buying used always comes with it's own risks!

    On that note: check the electrical wiring, locking mechanism, interior light, cracks/dents/punctures and window seals too. Struts can be replaced for cheap if they aren't working*. Nice thing about the 100XQ is that the sides are skirted so water intrusion is rare/impossible (in normal circumstances) though it could be a problem near the tailgate/rear-window if the seals are cracked.
