No worries. I’ll go to whatever site is first pick and go from there. Probably won’t get to the area until around 1630.

Ok. home now. so trying to really read and catch up with whats going on.
Moki Dugway. Yes, that way is the plan to get to the campsite. Its a beautiful drive, the over look is awesome and such.

Ok, as for range of miles. Hmm. Ok, so from Flagstaff to our turn off onto Comb Wash road is just about 240 miles. Now, on the way for gas is Kayenta and just north of that Gouldings lodge to save about 30miles. Past that, its Mexican hat when we pass through. Mexican hat might be expensive, so I'd say Kayenta. As Gouldings is about 50cents or more higher than Kayenta. I know this, because I work on the gas stations there often. While Gouldings does have a pretty good lil deli inside for food though.

Sunday on the way towards Needles I was planning on Monticello as a gas stop. Because after that, unless we need to re hit Monticello for gas. Were no longer going to see much civilization until we finish Lockhart basin road. So, this is where the gas cans will come into play.
From Monticello to Needles entrance is 50ish miles the way were going through the mountains. The amount we'll be driving in Needles is probably about another 50ish at most. But very slow in go driving.
Then Lockhart is 87 going straight shot. But, theres quite a few turn offs towards overlooks and such to check out. Plus any other exploring to do. Its all BLM land, so we can camp anywhere.

Depending on when we get to the turn off for Comb Wash we can wait for you. The trail through the canyon is pretty cool plus some stops for old ruins and such to check out.
If you dont have my Number PM me.
That way I can at least txt you via the garmin

Are we going to be camping anywhere that allows wood burning campfires? I know BLM currently has restricting on burning any solid fuel unless it’s in a metal fire ring. Just trying to decide whether or not I should bring the firewood sitting in my garage.

Will be bringing my propane fire ring if we decide we want a fire.

Where we’ll be there’s no fire restrictions currently. Except in Needles but the campsites should have rings.

Sweet. Some random gov website that wasn’t BLM said the whole state had restrictions, but if BLM says we’re good then I’ll pack the firewood.

Moki Dugway will be awesome to traverse. Down for that.

Will and I just did a small trip to the Arch Canyon Campsite area and I filled up in Kayenta as he mentioned. Drove around and explored for a couple of days and easily made it to Blanding with ~1/2 tank of gas left.

No fire restrictions as previously mentioned. Danny will most likely also bring a fire ring, but he won't join us until Thursday. I'll have a sawzall and axe to split/cut any wood for a campfire, but bringing some, especially for the first two nights, is a great idea. I'd bring some myself, but I am fresh out.

@PcBuilder14 As far as first night campsites go I just fired up my Gaia. Ignore the coordinates in the first post of this thread. We will consider the .gpx file Will shared with us as the go-to for route information now.

In the Arch Canyon Campground area North of Mule Canyon and Southwest of Blanding, the pin labeled 'Saturday Night Campsite (Primary)' is the much preferred spot to be, however, we will have to decide as a group if we want to attempt to get back there. The 7.9 mile trail is in a canyon/wash, which is very very cool, but difficult to drive. And Will's truck on 35's with a lift and wheel spacers with a Mt. Hood mounted on a full height rack, is basically the largest possible vehicle that can make it back there due to one width restricted section (very large rocks) and one height restricted section (large tree).

And the 7.9 miles took 2 hours to traverse with just one highly capable truck. As long as we all fit, all of our trucks will make it, though it may take longer with 5 of us. Rear locker was required in one area to climb out of a wash.

And it will be a Saturday night when we arrive. So if it is occupied (only one site back there) we will have to make the trek back to the pin labeled 'Saturday Night Campsite (Secondary)' that is at the start of the 7.9 mile trail to the Primary Site.

For now I say we plan on meeting at the pin labeled 'Saturday Night Campsite (Secondary)' as it is off of a large, graded dirt road, in a large area with numerous campsite spread throughout. From there, we can determine if we want to head back to the Primary site.

Exactly. Plus we can still go up to the one over look which I call Mini Top of the World.

    Good point.

This technical trail is located right near the Secondary campsite and is a good challenge if anyone wants to get some 4Lo time in, with a great view overlooking the canyon from the 'Mini Top of the World'.

I basically ran up the entire thing getting a bunch of videos of Will, which he hasn't even shared yet!
