My dealer said they are having an issue with supply with transfer cases. First I have heard of this.

This might have been happening already. I never seen so many 2wd Toyota trucks listed on dealer sites as I did this summer. Most trucks were always 4WD in the past, even 4Runners lsted as 2WD never saw a new 4Runner 2WD listed on a site in the northeast before.

The way I was told, is that you aren't ordering the truck. Toyota provides dealers with specific allocations based on previous sales. Then the dealer can make changes to the specific trim they are allocated such as color, packages, and accessories added on at the Port. So unless your local dealers never sold many 6mt with the access cab, they might not get a 2022 allocation for it. Hope this makes sense.

Dealer I'm working with got their allocation information this past week and I put down a deposit on a LR DCSB 4x4 Offroad. Told a build date of Oct 1st, should arrive at dealer end of October, early November.

Did you get a temp VIN? Ask the dealer for it since it was allocated so you can slightly watch it until the temp VIN stops working and you’ll know it’s built.

Yeah I made sure to ask for that, and they sent it to me. I've been trying to buy a new tacoma since early june and kept getting jerked around by local dealers in the SOCAL are, even going through the costco program.

That gives me some hope it might be soon...
    Is that for a 2021 or 2022?

Yea it’s been hectic and it seems like they are starting to slowly trickle in. Mostly 4x2 though.

There’s probably going to be a delay on this one as well considering there a few members that have had trucks with build weeks 3-4 weeks ago and still haven’t made it to them yet. So hopefully this one comes through for you.

Does all the info show up when you put it into Toyota’s site?

Yes it does, the dealer even told me there could be a delay but its mine and now I just gotta wait a bit more. I decided to go out of state to get mine and finally found a dealer that is actually doing a great job and giving reasonable prices (below msrp) with no dealer fees/addendums so I'm happy and I get a nice road trip vacation out of it.

Congrats and hope it all works out just be patient. I have 15-20 Toyota dealers in DFW and almost had to go 5 hours out of the way to get mine. Finally found a local dealer that knew I wasn’t going to play games. They finally got it allocated after two months and then came in two months later. My wait was April to August

I just put a deposit on a 2022 SR5. The dealer is telling me it should be here by the end of October. I have the temporary VIN, so I do believe it's an actual 2022, but I'm suspicious about his delivery estimation.

My dealer also told me my SW DCSB 6MT OR will be built 10/1 and expected arrival mid to late October. I'm a little skeptical about the timing, but I do have a temp VIN. It'll be a 2022 and I placed my deposit 9/5.

    a request ‘ true ‘ ................

    agreeing on a price

    itemized signed paperwork

a valid deposit is a contract can be considered an ‘ order ‘

otherwise the dealer is fishing in a pool of available models

many times the models in demand will go to a dealer that ‘ m o v e s ‘ the most vehicles ........................

    high sales percentages

less time on the lot drawing dust

big difference between an order on contract

as opposed to an anxiety attack request

I’m going to look at this later tonight but I’m still waiting. My dealer hasn’t said anything since August when he told me nothing was available.

Hmm, this could be bad… doesn’t seem like you can buy a double cab long bed sport in the v6 4x4. It puts you in a sr5 instead

Got some good news tonight. I placed a deposit for a 2022 Tacoma Army Green TRD Off Road, DCSB, with LEDs.
Additionally comes with all weather floor mats and door sill protectors, quick charge cable package, mudguards, predator tube steps, and truck bed D rings.
Truck is being built near the end of October and should be here by the end of November or early December 2021.
Originally wanted the same truck or any color besides white or red, but with the 6 foot bed. I started my request in June 2021 and nothing matching has been allocated so instead of waiting for an unknown period of time I decided on the shorter bed.
I’m paying MSRP and trading in my 2015 Sienna. I e got a tentative agreement on my trade in, but we are waiting until the Tacoma gets here to finalize that. This will be my first Tacoma, but 4th Toyota. Im very excited and hope others who are waiting get some good news too. Maybe I shouldn’t have used Cement-Taco as my name. Oh well.
