Definitely curious as to just how big they actually are and how much trimming was required compared to the typical 35. I'm figuring the trimming is more similar to what you'd be doing for a 285.

I’ve got a 35x10.5R17 in my stock location. Basically the same size as the 255/85R17. You just have to hammer the indexing tabs flat on the frame cross brace, chop the exhaust after the muffler and chop the rear hanger off the frame. It’s not that bad. I rub a little on my diff but not bad enough to not do it again.

I’m running 255/85/16’s on SCS 16x8 wheels, with my lift the front was almost tucked and the rears had about 1” of poke from the tire. Was considering going to a 285/75/16 just because it looked odd to me. Decided to try a 3/4” front wheel spacers, I’ve got a little rub, but it looks so much better and I’ve still got my skinnies : )

Yeah, I was really hoping to keep by oem rims cause I actually really like them, despite popular opinion lol. But anything wider than a 255 would definitely rub my ucas. I didnt want to have to go down the aftermarket wheel route, but may have to. Cause it looks a little goofy to me.

That's why they fit. Once you start to introduce different offsets, you introduce rub.

I believe the offset on the stock sport rims is something like +25 or even +30. I think something with even +10 would look much better and wouldnt have any rubbing issues

Winter is coming up and interested in going 255/80/17. I want to get S/T Maxx's but could y'all chime in on your experience comparing ST Maxx, AT3W, Ridge grapplers, etc. for winter snow and ice wheeling? I've been a KO2 lifer but willing to change my mind on that. I also do a lot of summer wheeling in the central Great Basin, however winter traction is important for me.

an all-terrain in winter isn't ever going to be the best option and at best will perform ok. if traction is important get a winter tire.

Thanks, yeah I get that. I hate the idea of just a dedicated winter tire since I live at a lower elevation and just do a lot of ski bumming around. So, I guess I'm looking for the best all arounder biased towards some winter traction between those stated.

I can’t speak to the others but the Wildpeaks do pretty well in fresh powdery snow or slush and are straight up dangerous on unplowed roads that get packed down. Depending on where you are that will be more/less of a problem.

Finally got the wheels in after Fedex delayed delivery for a week.. 255/80r17 ST Maxx tires. Stock height. So far, I had a bit of rubbing on the drivers side when moving forward and turning left. I'm guessing it's more pronounced here since drivers side sits lower. I trimmed about 5cm from a plastic piece, nothing major, and that rubbing is gone. No rubbing in reverse, even full turn. I also noticed slight rubbing if I brake hard. I'm feel like there's definitely going to be more rubbing off road since the space is pretty tight there. I'm going to get a 2 inch lift soon and I think that will sort the rubbing issues out. I think it will also help with the look.. Right now it looks like a lowered truck lol..

I love the bronze on green. Looks killer. I almost went bronze but black just looked better.
