I spent some quality  moments hanging on for dear life on the back of a minute miser like the one below. The plant night supervisor would pull up and say "Get on, ____ is down!" He would put his boot down and we would scream through the plant at 123 mph. He was solidly into his 60's and handled that thing like a go cart.

We also had an first response vehicle like the truck in the back ground, even though I never had a first aid course in my life I ended up as the driver for that just because I maintained them. It wasn't fast off the line but could get flying pretty good on a long hallway or warehouse area.

Easy to do, use the Ford style solenoid.

Heh, we have two Taylor-Dunn's (I think?) that are very similar in body style. Just replaced both's tire/wheels to foam filled as they kept running over crap and I got tired of plugging them. Also waiting on front wheel bearings for one. We had to slow them way down; they tend to hit alot of shit with the trains attached to them...

We also have 33 Motrec and 7 Pack-Mule tuggers. Most of them are beat up pretty good and the wiring is hacked to shit over the years. We have one older Motrec that I have the rear end tore almost all the way out. They somehow managed to snap an axle shaft. How they did that is a mystery as the older ones are Ford rear-ends. We have the factory programming tool and can make them super fast, like front wheel starts shaking fast. However we tend to not do that as most are too old and won't handle it for very long

Low voltage, yes, but high current; a metal-handled rake leaned against the two pipes could cause some serious sparks, especially if there were multiple batteries connected in parallel. A regular 12v lead/acid battery has sufficient potential to arc weld...

That’s the added bonus. Not a very good anti theft device but that’s what shotguns are for.

Workers can break a good anvil with a plastic hammer.... :frusty:
Even if you give them nice things -- still the same, don't miss it.

You keep quiet -- let em' sweat...

You have a Rambler I believe. That would have one. I had a 71 Gremlin that used the same system, just not with a foot pedal.

Heh, yea their ability to royally "F" something up is limitless!

Although my reputation for being able to work on these things is pretty apparent. There's certain drivers that will only bring them to me o_O Or maybe that I try my best to work with them on getting them serviced. Typically I'll grab another one for them to use (managers like to "hide" them and use them as their personal transport) so they can keep tugging and not be sent into a trailer to unload. Or if it's not pressing I'll tell them to drop it off in between sort changes.

Well fellers, I just came in from 2-1/2 hours of mowing so this is fresh on my *mind*. If you enjoy (dark) humor as I do perhaps you will get a laugh too.

Hadn't mentioned it but for the first time in my life I got Poison Ivy, not too bad, my neck, chest, belly and a few spots on my hands. Here comes the funny bit:
When I was outdoors (working around the Poison Ivy) I must have felt the urge to use "mens privilege" - aka: whizzing out doors...
(The older you get the more often you whiz by the way.)

I will leave you to figure out, as Paul Harvey always said, "the rest of the story".

Let me just say that it has been a very distracting several days and leave it there.
