Still loving it. just under 2 months and just over 4500 miles. trying to decide what to do next. either fog lights or ditch lights. Handles all the stuff I do with no issue.

They’re 700FF’s. Those black covers are cool though. I’m thinking about adding a second set of lights not sure if I wanna stick to the 700s or go with 500s for a staggered look.

Looking for some help from SR/SR5 community......
2020 SR 4x4 4 cly stock except for Scs wheels and Falken wildpeak 265/75/16 SL. Tire pressure 38 front 36 rear.

So I just hit about 20k and I have had some vibration in the last couple weeks after 200 mile trips at sustained speeds of 75mph+.

The vibration is the classic out of balance wheel. Happens at higher speeds 45+. Feels like a possible rear tire or a driveline vibration. Truck shakes around seat and armrest.

I checked my ubolt torque. They were out of spec. Checked my carrier bearing torque that was in spec. Vibes persisted.

The vibration is the classic out of balance wheel but it doesn't go away after 60 - 65 mph. I was due for service. I asked them to balance all 4 wheels rotate tires and whatever else was included in my final Toyota care. Marked all 4 tires and checked the weights. They indeed balanced and rotated. Vibes persisted.

Broke all 24 lug nuts loose and torqued to 83fl lb. Vibes persisted.

I read about all kinds of issues related to vibes and I really dont want to chase ghosts while exercising my warranty and having Toyota tear my truck apart.

My feeling is that it's still a balancing issue. I've had all kinds of AT tires and my experience is that at 20k they all ride rougher and have balancing problems.

For about 20K my truck drove like a sedan. Now I'm getting the classic truck feel where the rear end feels shaky and rough. Its definitely livable..... but after the smooth ride I had for 20k . I don't want to just live with it.

Should I air down/air up and see if it alleviates the problem?
Should I take it in and raise my concerns?
Should I just chalk it up to another set of cool looking AT tires that ride rougher at 20k?

Also. I noticed at the time I started getting vibes, my gas pedal seemed to be more responsive around the same time. Weird?

One last thing.. I noticed my shock body on my passenger side has slowly but surely coming in contact with the boot for the last 10k miles or so. Paint is wearing you can see in the pic. Drivers side is fine. I checked my sons and his shock bodies are fine. Wondering if theres something wrong or if it's normal were. Could this be the cause of vibes?20210923_085610.jpg

There have been many reports of issues balancing wildpeaks. I think most gravitate to this tire due to price point and most love the tire but seems there are also many that have had issues.

Yeah. Just not sure why I'd have issues at this stage. They have been on for close to 20k. But due to the fact that there have been reports that leads me to believe its tires as well

    Negative

Edit. I only had it up to about 52 mph in 4wd on dry pavement . Theres some reverb from the front tires, but the mild vibration from the rear is still appearant.

IDK if it's good to juice the truck to 70mph in 4wd. I generally dont do over 35 in 4wd

Yeah, I limit my 4wd use to 55 usually.

Would be worth the time to do a wheel swap with your son and a road test before spending any money.

Yeah. I actually have a set of wheels here. Stockers. I figured that after a balancing and rotation I would feel some vibration and shimmy in the steering wheel, but I didnt . Problem is exactly the same and coming from the rear.

Just curious, where did you get those raptor lights for your grille? I’d like to add those to my grille, (I have the same type of grille) but all I ever see are the lights for the TRD grille. Thanks.
