    I bought these in college and they still have a permanent spot on my desk. Fun fact, the HP 41 was carried on the space shuttle and would be used to calculate the reentry if all other systems failed.

    My dad kept his 1980's bag phone (this but bigger and vinyl bag) through the 90's. I don't know the current phones power but back then that phone was multiple orders of magnitude more powerful.

    That's because they operated on a VHF network with far fewer towers, and needed more energy to span the greater distances.

    Our 1992 "Motorola Murder Weapon" could hit towers 15 miles away. I'm 100% certain an iPhone can't do that, but it also doesn't have to.
