I put in my order for 21 TRD PRO in July. Dealer confirmed with me today ( 9-18-21) that I will get the ‘22 TRD Pro. Someday……

This is about as trustworthy as the sales folks people talk to.

Click on vehicles and choose the Tacoma. Hasn’t been updated since March of this year. Same for Tundras.

They will eventually start trickling in but I wouldn’t be trusting their fleet site at all.

There is also zero pool volume fleet for Tacoma’s as well. So don’t get your hopes up if your guy is trying to get it allocated that way.

I use to know some brokers up in that area that made a killing. Really good money, I wouldn’t really call them a broker even though that was their pitch and the company they worked for but they had an agreement with the dealers and they just passed the info to the dealer and got a nice cut.

Definitely was taught not to trust any of those guys.

Air Force must have it as good as everyone memes. I learned early in my service to, baseline, never trust anybody until you have held them naked.

I know the broker in question personally, so *hopefully* he's not lying to me. I also found this information on my own. The guy working for me said it could be 4 - 7 months wait and that there is a high likely hood of it being a 2022, meaning added wait time for re-tooling and initial buildout, with little follow up since then. The only things he has promised me are Off road, Army green, and Long Bed with just a tech package.

As long as he gets me what I want at the MSRP he promised me. I'm a happy guy. These conditions still make it a screaming deal compared to any other dealership around here.

Good call-out on the update time. I didn't notice it at all. I'll still leave the post up, us newbies would rather have some sort of schedule than none at all. Maybe track the Δ between certain models we know are coming out of certain factories using peoples truck pick up post's as a means to find at least some sort of median.

How did you do a Factory Order? Every dealer I talked to said that you can't order Tacoma's.
I wanted a new 2021 Cement Gray TRD Sport, w/Access Cab, and a 6 Speed manual Transmission, but all the dealers I talked to said that you can't order them.

I went up to the mountains without cell signal for 4 days, and got a voicemail from my sales guy while I was away on the 16th saying that the truck is back to a projected delivery date of 9/22 now. I checked the VIN and it's showing my dealership as the selling dealer and a date of first use of 9/15. Does anyone know what triggers the date of first use?

From my understanding that means the vehicle was sold on that date. If the date is a weird futuristic date then it’s still hasn’t been sold.

Not a 100% but that’s how I would track what trucks we’re actually on the lot and most of the time it was pretty accurate.

Call your dealer and see what the deal is.

The means the vehicle was sold part was what I was afraid of. Well, if they sold it out from under me the day before they left a message saying it should be here the middle of this week, there isn't much I can do about it now that I can't do about it later, so I'll wait and see what I hear as the week goes by. There has been shady shit afoot, but I'm trying not to borrow trouble and assume they would be quite that shady.

Finally got an update from the dealer. A 2022 green OR m/t premium was allocated with a 10/1 build date. Hopefully that doesn’t get pushed back but that’s where I’m at right now.
    Deposit: May 5
    Allocation: Sept 20
    Build date: Oct 1?
    sheesh.

Does anyone from Canada know if we can get temporary vin's in Canada?
I wasn't even aware of them until I started reading this thread.

Stoked for all of you with trucks finally hitting your dealers.

I am not enjoying the wait for mine, all I was told is mid to late October. Nothing else to go off of despite how often I check with my sales rep.

How does this "temp vin" work? I have not heard of this.

If your dealer actually has an allocation for the truck you are expecting they should be able to give you a temporary VIN.
When (or within a couple days of) your truck actually being built your temp VIN will quit working and your dealer should be able to access your "final" VIN.
You should be able to ask for your temp VIN from your dealer.

    Interesting, Thanks for input.

So, if my truck had a scheduled build date of 9/6/21, does that mean they should be able to provide me with a vin?

I haven't specifically asked for a vin or temp vin so if I do maybe I will get a different answer?
