I’m also looking to replace stock tires on my 17 TRD off-road. Keeping stock rims for now. Looking at the BFG ko2, Michelin LTX at2 or the faulken wild peaks.
For those that have any of these, how is the road noise compared to stock tires? Ride comfort and handling?

I have aftermarket wheels that are 17x8.5, with the Falkens. Road noise is not an issue, but I do have some front rubbing on the mudflap, most often when entering my (steep) driveway at a hard angle.

Follow up: I had the set of Hankook Dynapro AT2 265/70R17 tires put on a few days ago. Discount Tire installed them and said there was no rubbing at all when they tested although the computer warned them there could be:) I've driven her around for about 100 miles through turns, a little off road and bumps here and there. No rubbing! The Dynapros feel great. Lots of grip in the pouring rain we had a few days ago and a soft ride it seems like compared to old tires. Only 1MPH difference when I compared the speedometer to a GPS one. Why Hankooks? First off, the price was less than $130 per tire and the warranty is amazing. I just replaced the Hankook tires that came stock on my wife's Explorer we bought 3 years ago and the tires were wonderful including through the rough Midwest winters we get. I attached a few pics. They look much more aggressive than my old tires. We'll see how they do on the snow, which will be here in a few more months. Road noise will obviously increase
Ride comfort is great as long as you dont go to a E Load tire
Handing improves immensely in the dirt!

Anyone running the Cooper STT Pros? Just ordered them, should be in next week. I've had my eye on these tires since I owned my first Jeep like 10 years ago :D

    Your truck looks great.

I just did the same thing today. TRD gun metal 17’s and GY 265/70R17 Duratracs. They removed the front mud flaps because they said they rubbed.

Were you able to fit the same size spare underneath? I still need to buy a spare.

I installed 265/70/17 KO2's on Method NV 17x8.5 +0 on Saturday - I had some rubbing on both the mudflap and a tab from the fender flare that sticks out. I removed the flaps and trimmed the flare (I need to find my dremel and go back to clean it up a little more), and that removed 95% of the rubbing. I don't think there would be any rubbing with those tires on the stock Sport wheels.

Mine rubs in same spot, running 265 70 17 on SCS Ray 10’s, have you taken it off-road? Is it still rubbing?

I haven't taken it off road... I don't go offroad very often. I figured I'd live with it until I decide to lift it.

265/70-17 falken wildpeaks on FJ cruiser steelies. Same 7.5” width as the stock sport rims but a +14 offset instead of the stock +32 offset.
I get a little rub on the front mudflaps near lock when the suspension compresses.

    Hello all,
This thread has been very helpful. I have finally been able to make some mods to my 2017 extended cab! I have some FN FX Pros coming 17x8 0 offset. And I’m looking at putting on some Falken wild peaks 265/70/17 . Also planning on 5100 Bilstiens front and rear, front on 3rd clip to level out a bit. I would like to keep the factory mudflaps. Would this set up work?
I could always go with a 265/65/17 instead, but they are 6ply as to 4 ply of the 70’s but it would give a little more wiggle room. Would they ride noticeably stiffer?
Looking for some help from those who have done this before!

I'm sure someone with a set up closer to yours can answer better than I. I think the 265/70-17's will fit once you have the lift on. I have 265/70-17 wild peaks on FJ cruiser rims with a 14mm offset on mine and they lightly rub the mudflaps at near full lock. I'm running stock sport suspension. Not sure if the zero offset will help or make that worse.
