If anybody is considering getting the rail slider kit I can highly recommend it! Really a game changer when camping. Also highly recommend getting either the full or 1/2 cabinet. We got the 1/2 cabinet and works great for storing our stove and a couple other items. Also recommend getting one of the cabinets with the rails as the full rail can only fit 3 lion boxes which is what fits on a rail with a cabinet. Going to get the hi-lids for the lion boxes when Front Runner gets them back in. Other than that, I think I'm done with adding accessories to the canopy. Just finished installing a water system also and installed the pump under the cabinet. Love my RLD!

Well, busy weekend to be sure.

Made a wiring harness for the 6x Baja Designs S2's (2x S2 sports each side, 2x S2 pros to the rear) to be mounted on the RLD roof rack. Pain...In...The....Ass!!! I wish I could just wing it and just use quick crimps and run wires. But no, I can't. Everything needs to be soldered, heat shrinked, and run in plastic tubing. The design of the RLD rack allowed me to run the harness within the rack tubing, so it is completely hidden and not subject to any abuse.

After the wiring harness and lights were mounted on the RLD rack, next job was drilling and setting up for the bushing for the canopy to rack transition.

This is not the end product. Once I had the bushing in and sealed, the rack was lifted over and brought forward to its final resting place and placed over this bushing. The bushing is not visible and instead resides within the load bar seen just behind the bushing in the photo.

Then came bolting up the rack and running the wiring harness inside.

Sealed up rack mount points, tightened everything down, and am ready next weekend to land the wires.

This will be an awesome set up for me. I typically arrive out at camp about midnight, setting up in the dark. About 2am, there is a firewood run. These lights will be a godsend when setting up camp, cutting wood, pulling boats onto trailers after dark, or any other night time needs.

The RLD canopy by itself did not look great to my eye....but I loved it because it will serve a great purpose. Adding in the RLD rack and lights really made this go from just "eh, okay" to "hey, that's nice".

Will need to upgrade springs to Deaver Stage 1 leafs soon. Lost about 3/4" ride height in rear. Want that back as I'm not a fan of the leveled look. I don't like the squat when carrying a load in the rear.

Also installed a Yakima spare tire carrier on the rack. When going "way out there" it will be nice and will now be able to add a second spare to the roof rack.

Completely agree with the cabinet/rail slide/lion box setup. Three boxes is plenty for gear and allows for one to be a “junk” drawer. Cabinet is a game changer. I have my Mt Hood ladder, camp chairs, small table and boot bag tucked in there.

Looks like we have a similar set up and tent although I mounted our fridge in the back seat.

What are you using for a paper towel holder? Thinking about getting a magnetic one but haven’t decided which one yet. Heading to Zion National Park on Friday and have just about everything ready. Only wish I had a paper towel holder!

Oh man, I can't remember where I found it. It was definitely an RV supply site but I'm sure a quick search on the Google would yield some results.

We've got a return trip planned for UT next summer so I'll be reaching out for some ideas/tips/campsites/routes.

Be well sir and safe travels

If anybody has the RLD lion boxes the Front Runner Wolf Pack Hi-Lids work great on these boxes and adds several extra inches of height (same box as the Wolf Pack).

Has anyone installed their own windows on one of these?

RLD, do you guys have a way to retrofit a window on a solid door?

Short or long bed? I have a set of short bed sliding window doors for sale on black doors.

Where did you end up order from? I don’t see an option to specify a single door for DCLB. I’m guessing you had to call and special order?

    • Does anyone have pictures of the new V3's on a 2nd gen long bed with the new windows?
    • Have the locking latches been updated in some way to prevent freezing yet? I know both RSI and RLD had this problem and were both working on solutions. I'm in New England so it's a no-go till thats fixed.
    • Did anyone measure their cap to confirm that they're really the advertised weight? I might be coming from a softopper and am very weight conscious on the truck.

Just purchased mine and it’s already on the way from the port. Has anybody used a Prinsu rack and mounted a RTT on this? I’ve seen plenty of Front Runner and the RLD racks but not a Prinsu.

Hi, do you have any pics on the install? The prinsu to the RLD canopy? I am debating on getting a prinsu to mount my tent to. I already have a prinsu rack for my cab, so It would match if I installed one on the canopy. How is it holding up?

How did you mount your axe, shovel, and rotopax? I don’t see any Molle panel.

Has anyone tried debadging/removing the "RLDdesignusa.com" logo on the back window? Was wondering if it would be possible without leaving an etching before beginning to do so. After inspecting closely, it seems to be printed like AWS window rain gaurds/deflectors and can be removed with rubbing or buffing. Asking before trying a project like this. Don't want to ruin the window if it leaves an etching. Planning to get this window tinted.
