They weren't thinking. They copied other manufacturers to play it safe. Toyota moved even further away from having a working truck, to a lifestyle truck. It'll sell great, I'm sure most of them will have the 5 1/2' box and crewmax cab.

I like the grill with the 'TOYOTA" badging best. The other grills are too gaudy.

I don't think going with the catfish face grille design idea from the old as dirt 4runner was the proper play here.

Someone will make a delete kit or replacement grill for these.

    Right!?

I know, I’m just jumping on the grill bashing because I’m disappointed in the powertrain’s lack of vision

With this power in the iForce Max it should out do the V8 no problem.

In this one - I really don't like the vacuum cleaner look on the bottom one. The top "Pro" grille setup looks a little bit better maybe it's the lighting but that bottom one does NOT look good to me.

It's $5 a gallon here in Kalifornia. If that thing gets 12mpg vs 20 mpg... $420 a month vs $250. $170 a month or 2k a year... that's not insignificant and will likely amount to 50% of the trucks value over 10 years as gas will continue to go up in price.

3rd gen tundra front end is WAY better than the 3rd gen Tacoma front end.

    I said what I said.

still has the ugly fender accents (they call them flares) that the Tacoma has though and I hate them…

otherwise I like the tundra a lot

New Tundra literally fixed every issue with the last Tundra.
    MPG (presumably)
    Bulbous ugly styling
    Nice interior

I'd say reliability will be questionable. This thing seems incredibly complex compared to a fairly straight forward V8.
    Hybrid + Turbos etc etc.

Wonder if needs Premium to achieve peak hp.

Depends on compression ratio for fuel octane. with a turbo it's typically low compression, this has a twin turbo and hybrid so I say 87 octane.

    Like, so many.
It's terrible. I think with just a few changes it could have looked good though. Maybe I'm just not the guy for full size trucks because I tend to not like the looks of most of them.

Current Fraud products are significantly derated on 87. Same goes for some jeep products. Usually boosted products always produce more on premium. I am sure it'll be tuned for 87, but it will likely have a "peak power" disclaimer.
