I legit thought @Black DOG Lila was a girl for a long time, because of the Lila part of his username.

 

First day of cutting!

Apparently, I got a knack for it because not only did the instructor say he's never seen such clean cuts from anyone their first day, all the classmates said they "still can't cut as well" and they're modules ahead of me.

That silver pen helped make small but very visible lines; didn't even use my soapstone at all!

 

so apparently the initial quote I got on the freeze plug job from the shop was way higher because he ran the labor estimate for an auto trans Tacoma, lol.

Another manual transmission bonus perk I guess. He's going to look at the clutch when the trans is dropped and see if he recommends doing it as well. It's got about 75k on it but a lot of wheeling miles, so I'm not sure. I may just have him do it no matter what unless it looks great still.

 

That’s why I like it. Works well on everything except super clean metal (you can’t see the lines as well). I use a sharpie for that.

awesome cuts! I’m still getting used to my plasma cutter. Good with a guide, but still a little shaky when freehanding shapes.

 

Two PA members assumed my gender falsely too. I played along via PMs and agreed to a 3sum.
The room # was at a Convalescent hospice but they both showed up early.

I want an oxy setup too. Useful for a lot of things around the shop.

 

They love that, shoulda seen my 3RZ with the supercharger bombing up HWY 14a in Wyoming. 4500k full throttle 3rd gear racing a SC V6 truck. Got to the top of the 10mi grade at 225* F haha. But I won the race, even with 33s, up a 12% grade, and fully loaded for weeks of camping.

 

Don't be making fun of the oxy/ace torch, but really though Oxy/Propane is more convenient if all you're doing is heating

Just so excited to be getting hands on already; I'm a week ahead of schedule since I finished all my OSHA stuff and safety courses in 3 days (not the allotted 2 weeks).
