I haven't installed the puddle pods yet, and I have the xrunnerdude conversion harness for my 2020 LED headlights. IShould I buy the plug and play DRL connector? Thanks... @MESO?

it's up to you. But to same $$ I would just tap the 2 wires into your conversion harness.

Awesome. Thanks Meso. So if I understand this correctly for those who have Puddle Pods installed, that 2-pin connector will be given to us. HOWEVER, we still need to run the red and white wires per your instructions in order to operate the V5 as a DRL

Correct. The red+white wires you will just splice into the ~6" 2 pin that will go to the puddle connector (that's already ran in the door). Hope this makes sense.

I don't have the puddle pods on my current truck I left them on my last truck when I sold it. I plan on purchasing the puddle pods as soon as they're back in stock. I'm not looking forward to that boot again!! :frusty:

Ahhhh..gotcha. So it's not necessary to tap into the ignition switch, toggle, etc. Just tap it into the 2pin connector. Then plug and play within the puddle pod system. Basically the benefit of having the puddle pods. :D

    Those are not V5's

Those are Limited Edition switchbacks. Only 25 were made about 3 years ago.

Sorry in advance for the confusion, I have a 4 month old screaming at me right now... I have the V1 puddle pods. Do mine have the 2 pin connector I need to ask about in the notes when I place my order? Is the add on DRL harness separate from this 2 pin connector?

You do not have the 2 pin connector for the V1 puddles.

the add on DRL harness is separate from this

Keep fighting the good fight with the 4 YO :cookiemonster:

Little upset that there aren't harnesses for the OEM LED headlights BUT @daveeasa hooked me up a few months back so I should be good to go there.

Anyone else who is looking for a DRL tap for the 2020+ OEM LED headlights can check out his thread here. Great prices and QC.

@MESO, is the DRL input used as a trigger (similar to activating a relay and using very low current) or will the turn signals be pulling current through that DRL wire for illumination?

Turn signals are separate current from the the DRL if I'm reading that correct?

The same install applies for the V5's if you just want to tap inside the door.

It is used to power the DRL. But they do not pull that much current ~1-2Amps max.

Also here is a quick overview and unboxing

@MESO Looking at the pictures that you have on the site, looks like I would hook up the signals like normal for turn signals, then to link them for my strobe system I would want to use the red wire to make them bright strobes or white for dimmer strobes. Does that sound right?

Perfect! I'll post a video once I get them installed. If these lights can handle strobe systems, they should be pretty much indestructible.

Thanks Stew! That definitely cleared it up for me. I'll for sure be getting the T harness and routing it up to the headlights. Appreciate another kick ass product!
