@nudavinci64 I plan on taking 1.375" off in height off the rack.. and make the cut from back of rack to 42.625". Sound about right? I started the cuts on the truck this weekend with my grinder, but realized it would be much easier and cleaner to take them off completely and bring into work and cut in the waterjet.

Hahaha. It's definitely not as clean as I'd like it. Needs some paint work bad. But yeah man! It's been a while since it was like this. I thought about a sport hood. But I don't want to mess with it anymore. You should definitely do that hood tho. I've seen it. Would look clean on your truck! Appreciate it mayne!

You will want to go all the way to the next opening where I would assume you mounted the cross bar. I cut right about there and we had to take off another 1/2 - 1" when I got the setup installed. Then later took off a bit more. See where the cross bar sits and cut up right until there.

I think my X1 has shifted forward some so that's not helping me.

I don't have a bar there.. but was hoping ti save that little slot. But you're saying to cut that little slot out.. so to here? So that should be about 43.5"-44" in length from rear of rack. I'm at work now.. but can double check those measurements when I get home.

I left that bar in place I mean put the bar back on and cut up to that part. I let the front 2 bars I think in tact. maybe it was 3 but I did not cut past but rather before it. I can snap a photo. You may be okay but it would be close. Every mm counts.

Ahh got ya. Ok. That's what I was trying to figure out and why I originally marked it where it was. Wanted a little meat before that first crossbar. I plan to run the 2 to 3 crossbars up front.. enough for support and for Ramps. Then going to make new holes at the back of the rack for a rear crossbar. It'll sit closer to the roof.. but with the slope.. it should fit. Then I'll have a big area with no supports in the middle (which isn't terrible) but I found some half extrusions from McMaster that will work being half the height.. they should clear. So I'm hoping to have a full rack again just lower and still sturdy.

I only added bars where exposed. I was going to add them back but forgot and frankly not much room.

You will get 2 bars with a DCSB

This is where it’s trimmed to now. I had to hack it a bit on a baja trip so needs to be removed and cleaned up but you can see it sits right next to the crossbar about as close as can be. Actually looks pretty close to where you have it. I think you uses the measurements I gave you??

yessir. I based those initial lines off your measurements. You said between 1.25-1.5 in height.. so I went 1.375. and the length.. you said as close to 43" as possible.. so I did a little less.. which put me at that line so I could keep that slot too. So yeah.. pretty much where yours is I think.

When you pick up you can always trim. We did some when I went as I had cut to 42 but was too close. Height I think that works. I did 1.25 but wanted more as it was hitting while offroad.

Want to swap racks? I have a Dissent one that I run with only the front half to clear my Mt Hood hanging over the roof. I do have the whole thing though.

More prep done today. Got the Prinsu cut back. I plan to redrill mount holes for the crossbars and add some low profile 2x1/2 extruded crossbars to stiffen up the middle. The rear crossbar I'll be able to re-use the Prinsu 2x1 extrusion.

Bed mat was also cut to fit around my fridge slide so I can take it in/out easily to clean. Notched down the center and sliced off the other wing, but kept it to fill that small section. Also cut out some fillers plates for the bed cubbies too when I start going through it to seal it up for the camper.

Just need to start my Dual Battery setup once all the parts and goodies start getting here. Went on a little ordering spree the last few days... Plan is to pull the truck in the back and start going to town on wiring and accessories.

Massive thanks to @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT for all the help over the last week or so.. listening to my ideas and what I was looking for, and making it understandable. I learned a lot about 12v during all this.. it's definitely not my strong suit. He helped me get setup with the OGE kit I was wanting to run, but then more importantly, understand how to wire up everything else I knew I wanted.. but didn't know how to get there. Whether it was how it needed to be wired and what amperage fuse.. to just knowing where all that little stuff went. He made it super clear and even has the skills to make some badass wiring diagrams!

Just need to nail down the final details before I submit my Carts at Off-Grid Engineering and PowerTray. All the other random stuff from Amazon has been mostly ordered.. oh and All-Pro and Front Runner..:anonymous: It's been a spendy last few days.. but glad to FINALLY get going on this Dual Battery setup.. and some other ideas.. They're long overdue..

Damn man its all moving right along! Happy for you! And the back yard turned out great. Going to need to get some sun sails up to get you some shade back there working on all that.
