Any body have an issue with their flip fob where the key doesn't retract all the way back into the fob? Been smooth sailing since I got it, about 9 months of use.

Tried rewinding the spring and that didn't work. Got a replacement spring mechanism from Meso CS, installed it today and same issue. Is my FOB shell just worn out?

Mine does it occasionally, either when the spring jumps the perch or when it seems to be a tad strong.

Yeah I was hoping the new spring mechanism would resolve the issue. Kinda stinks because the key just catches on anything in my pocket and since it's already semi open it flips out easily.

Guess I'm glad I didn't destroy my oem keys for the chips and have those as a backup.

Idk if my spring "settled" or what because it barely does it now. :notsure:

Just a heads up for anyone looking at the minimalist fob.
I recently had to leave my truck running while heading into an appointment for about a half hour. Had no choice. Truck had to stay running. Let's no veer off topic onto whether or not you should leave your truck like this. Anyway...

I used a little trick I read of on here recently, as to where you can hop out with the driver window open, close door, lock doors from inside door button, roll up auto window and walk away.
    Truck locked. Running. Secure.

HOWEVER, if you use this method to lock the doors, you CANNOT UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE FOB. The door must be unlocked either key in handle, or from the inside.

After being on the fence about the minimalist fob for quite a long time, I am extremely happy I have held off.
Without the fob key, I would have been stuck, locked out of my truck, with it running.
Popped out the fob key, and unlocked via key hole in the handle.
Panic set in for 2.75 seconds when nothing happened when I pressed the unlock button on the fob first.

So, no knock to the MESO Fob, just keep in mind that the key in the fob serves a purpose, and it could save you from a SOL situation.

You leave the window down reach in and hit the window up button because they're automatic windows in a roll all the way up after you let go of the button. Just move your arm.

@MESO any chance you'll be making more of the zombie green key fob in lieu of the new lime green pros?

Does the key fob help protect against people stealing your rfid or does anyone know of any key fob covers that can? Don’t want a huge cover or case.

What colors are back in? I looked but don’t see anything different than the past few weeks. Maybe I missed a specific color?

Question for you guys. Just ordered a flip fob for my 6MT Tacoma. I watched the videos on the switch over process and decided I’d get a jump on it and rip that chip I’ll need out of my one of keys.

To test it out I took the chip and what was left of the hacked key out and tried to start my truck. At first it would not crank (just had the chip in the cup holder in the cab). Then I moved the chip right next to the ignition and it did roll over but as soon as I would remove the chip from right next to ignition it’d kill it.

I figure it’s okay and is supposed to be right next to the ignition since it’s in the key normally, I just wanted to double check I didn’t damage that little SOB during the removal process. Does this sound normal or should I look into getting another chip for it?

    thanks in advance.

Normal, immobilizer must be very close to work.

There is a red flashing "security" light on the dash when the immobilizer is not present, it goes away once you bring the chip to the sensor within range.
