Crazy is a relative thing when it comes to suspension around these parts, but they come exclusively on the TRD pro because of the wider stance that is consequent to the upgraded FOX suspension. It is discussed in a few of the reveal videos.

Btw, even the Tacoma TRD pro has a 1" wider stance than other trims.

It takes a special kind of person to ignore the stats in favor of a v8's sound and forgone, albeit long-standing superiority. Is it a masculinity thing? Are people luddites? Same people who look at the vaccine stats and say they don't work? Who knows?

I wonder how well this new gen will sell compared to the current gen. The current tundy didn’t really even compete with the domestic full size’s and that’s reflected by the numbers sold. It was long the tooth, terrible interior for 2021 and lacking in comfort, mpg, technology and performance compared to the big 3. The tundra’s best selling point was it was definitely over built in many ways compared to the domestics. Let’s just say you don’t see as many 500,000 American full size’s driving around as you do tundras. If they can retain the level of reliability and toughness while adding some refinement it will be a step in the right direction. The most exciting things are the drivetrain options and the revised read suspension. I really hope they give us a hybrid v6 option in the next gen taco.

Your options are only going to get fewer. I figure that Chrysler will be the last to offer a V8 engine in anything, either due to demand, or that they haven't come up with new technology to replace it yet!

The American brands are popular because of longevity of brand and loyalty to brand. I don't see Tundra getting close to the American brand numbers. The hybrid will be enticing to some more.

4 link rear suspension isn't good enough? That's a pretty good setup. I'm betting you can fit 35's on the stock suspension.

True, I think the mpg was a huge turnoff for many buyers of the old gen. Getting 13 mpg is just plain wrong in 2021. Will be interesting to see the new mpg numbers.

this lunar rock sr5 is the best looking base I’ve seen. No stupid flares, grill surround is color matched and not horrible. And the color is great.

No Max engine but an excellent blank canvas to mod with. Someone will make a supercharger for it I bet.

Fixed. V8’s are dead for Toyota. I’m waiting for this drivetrain to hit the Lexus LX. Rumored almost 500 hp and 640+ ft lbs.

Not saying it’s not good enough. Just wondering if they could have done a bit more than just putting on bigger tires to push it beyond 80”. Like the TRX’s fiberglass fenders, etc.

Is the max available in all packages? Or just the higher end ones?

I'm sure you'd need to get a specific minimal line to get the Max. Just speculating but i don't see that engine in the entry level model. But ya never know.

    Trim levels per MotorTrend site

    https://www.motortrend.com/features/2022-toyota-tundra-trim-levels/?slide=1

If it's 4wd it gets a locking diff. Limited on up have the Max engine optional and only engine on the Pro.

Yeah not gonna lie a price tag of 25k for a LC isn't completely off putting depending what you get, but the runner hilux is a little more practical

Looks like if it's a 4wd configuration it gets a locking diff on any 4wd trim

And at least a limited before you can have the max.

maybe in a couple years they’ll have an SR5, with off-road add on, with the max engine. That seems ideal to me.
