These commercials with the old heritage vehicles always have the opposite effect on me. It makes me want the old one more, and it makes the new one look more like a toy in comparison.

Anyone here going to trade taco over tundra? My truck feels very small but then again parking is an issue too hopefully it has over 20 mpg or more then I might consider getting one

Before you rub your own nipples too hard trying to reach orgasm, attached is Fords documentation for the 2021s from their website. The 3.5L Ecoboost is rated for 400HP/500ftlbs of torque on 87 minimum as per the documentation. Ford used the SAE J 1349 to come up with those numbers as per their website, meaning those numbers were third party calibrated to 87 octane minimum at a specific altitude and temperature as covered by that standard. That's all I said. The 2021 Ecoboost F150 does not need premium to make the rated power because Ford doesn't specify that it does on the documentation they use on their website and quote as being SAE J 1349 compliant.

Now maybe Toyota will need 89/91 to hit the number they are throwing up in their advertisements. To be absolutely fair they may choose to do so if they specify 89 and/or 91 for their testing.

You may resume nipple rubbing if necessary. I know I will.

If the engine is like the existing twin turbo V6s it'll make it's best mpg on the highway by far. So you might get 20 mpg overall on the road when it's out of boost cruising on the highway. In town it'll be about 16 or 17 from my experience.

I just wish this trucks grill wasn't to the floor boards like the Lexus designs. I'm sure in 4-5 years it'll look better to me but this is pretty meh, like the 2015 F150's with the Hexagon grill which I was never a huge fan of.

I would think so. All the heavy off throttle lifting (pulling) will be done up to 18mph by the EV motor they say. Then the twin hair dryers kick in. It's gonna get great milage and be pretty quick. Lot's of torque baby!

Never, just like the smaller iForce never made it to the Taco. Toyota owners can join the Colorado owners waiting for the boosted four banger in the Colorado.

TFL has a new Talkin' Trucks episode with Mike Sweers doing a lot of talking about the changes and why they did what they did. It's quite good to hear it right from the horses mouth. Lots of good info and insights.

Is the hybrid mid stacked on the transmission like the Ford? I have a customer with the hybrid F150 who says he's getting about 24 mpg overall. The big advantage of the electric is on acceleration, the Ecoboost stays out of boost with electric assist until you really get on it.

Anyone else feel a little overwhelmed by the look of the thing?
I traded my 2012 Tundra for my current 2018 Tacoma looking to downsize and simplify my truck. I didn’t need the V8 or the sheer size of the Tundra anymore. For better or (sometimes) worse I got exactly what I wanted in the Tacoma. But I've been anxiously awaiting the debut of the new Tundra thinking I might like to go back to the comfort of the full size truck, but after seeing it I’m feeling like it’s too much. In the same way the Platinum Ford’s and the way over styled GM products are JUST TOO MUCH. Just my opinion, but the simplicity of the Tacoma means even more to me after seeing the Tundra.
