I will be curious about your plans and design. I have researched a bit on the thread from Wander the West:

I am getting my X1 installed Wednesday (9/22).
I have emailed asking about the electrical connectors used for the brake light.
No answer yet. What should I expect?

Other things I plan on checking during the install (based on the comments in this thread):
    • alignment of extrusions
    • zipper function
    • truck bed attachment brackets
    Anything else?

I've sealed the bed rails and cubbies.
Got my Boeshield ready for the latches.

    Stoked after waiting for ~9months.

    Vehicle insurance additional binder/coverage.
Tailgate seal/gaps and plans for mitigating that (shouldn't be an issue on your 3rd gen since they designed around that.
Posting photos of the bed attachment brackets to keep the thread up-to-date with the latest status.

Thanks for the reminder on the insurance.

I did a pretty good job of sealing around the tailgate (used the ESI product recommended) so I wiill be very interested in the X1-tailgate seal.
I've got a little bit of the material left over, but I am hoping not to need it.

I will post a photo on the attachment and confirm glass or plastic on the windows (ordered the rear window).
I also plan to weigh truck before and after. Anyone know of a truck scale in the area of the shop?

One of the easiest is a CAT scale. Nationwide.
Out here in CO it’s something like $12 for the first weigh and then $2 for a re-weigh.
NOTE: they did not tell me that the re-weigh had to be within 24 hours for the $2 price.

For ~17 min east of SP, it seems worth stopping first, then SP then back to the scale for the most accurate reading.

If you want to get more specific, fill up the tank at Love’s next door right before each weigh at the same pump and don’t top off.

    Ha! You're fast.
I did look up CAT scales and found one in Aurora, which is on I-5 South; the direction I will be travelling from.
Will do your suggestion of topping off just before weighing both times.

Did more prepping for the camper this weekend. Removed bed rack and tent.. All the accessories on the roof rack. Removed roof rack to trim height. Gutted all my electrical, lights and wiring. Cleaned up the bed for the first time in probably 6+ years since the bed rack and tent lived on it. Need to seal the bed rails and other problematic areas. Ordered Butyl tape..need to order tailgate seal.

For under the bedrails.. are you guys just pulling the rails and sealing under it? And with what? I guess I don't see the big issue with that area... More so corners and around the tail gate primarily. Again.. we aren't trying to completely seal this thing. We know there will be dust and we are accustomed to that so no biggie for us. Anything will be better than what we've been used to. Will be nice to have a "clean/dry" bed and storage area for once.

Bringing in my Prinsu rack, Newly purchased bed mat, and some material to seal off the dumb little side cubbies in the bed to my work to waterjet everything nice and clean and precise. Bed mat will be notched to fit around my fridge slide.

Not sure if this was answered for you or not but here’s a pic. The wires in my hand are from the SP brake light along with a card they give you.

    Thanks for that picture.
I did hear back this afternoon from Josh and he confirmed there's no connection/connector provided.

ah-ha! thank you.. thats what I needed. I started trying to take the rails off the truck.. but like everything else on it.. the Az sun has taken its toll. They feel brittle and.. Meh. Was seeing how bad the areas were that needed to be sealed and what went into it to justify tearing into them or not.

above is how far I've gotten on it. I can still get to them if I really wanted.

I planned on just buying some nice Deutsch connectors and pre-wiring the truck side.

The one I got from @Puppypunter was very reasonable and nicely done. It was previously posted somewhere in here

That’s what I used well made and a breeze plus options for other if needed. I thought about maybe adding some aux brake light or blinkers as they can be blocked when fully loaded at times

I can do turn signal taps as well :D
    Thank you again!

If anyone needs a good way to tap the brake wire, I can make a plug and play brake tap. If you let me know it is for the Super Pacific X1, I can even make it color coded so is all you have to do is match the wires. Just shoot me a PM. I can do 2nd gens (and have done one 1st gen so far, but need to get parts for those).

I can also do a brake/parking light tap and terminate the other end in deutsch DT for a nice flanged connector. If you need power or something else running through it, the deutsch taps come in 3,4,6,8,and 12 position :)

What's the biggest (safe) gauge wire that would work in those deutsch connectors?

The solid ones can handle 16awg. You can squeeze a 14awg into a stamped one though. I have a couple custom made DTP series flanged 2 position though that could do 12awg if we had to.

If there is enough slack, you could always add a weatherpack connector or something, But yeah, that's the real advantage of the deutsch is in making it removable, and still is clean when it is removed.
