Anyone have any suggestions with remote start 2021 SR5. I would like to still be able to use OEM key fob. The ignition is a basic key ignition.

N2 designs. They make one for the H key or regular key. Pretty much plug and play minus 1 TPMS wire you have to splice into.

It will use oem fob. You can also add-on the phone app to start from anywhere. I use it all of the time parking away from truck.

I didn;t have to spice into any wires with my N2 Desighn. I don't know if you have to splice into any wires with the non smart key set up.

I have the H Key version, you have to splice into the TPMS wire for that one.

I have the accessorides (rebranded code alarm) on my 2017 SR5 H Key ignition. Plug and Play and uses stock key fob for the 3 lock clicks.

Mods: Is this still a Tacoma?
Thanks guys! Yes, we have that kit, and yes it uses your OEM fob.

For the HKEY kits, you DON’T HAVE to cut the TPMS wire BUT if you don’t, this is the tradeoff:

Once remote started, your fob presses post start will not register, meaning you will not be able to remote stop it. So then how does the engine stop you may ask. Three ways, you will need to:

    A) Let it run the countdown timer the full course of the 15 minutes, or

    B) Stick the key into the key hole to manually unlock the vehicle and tap the brake pedal to stop it, or

    C) Stick the key into the key hole to manually unlock the vehicle and do key take over, where you get in, shut the door, put the key into the ignitions ON position (2-clicks) and tap the brake pedal once and you can drive off as if the key started the vehicle.

So what you will NOT be able to do if you don’t make the one wire snip is be able to press lock 3 times after remote starting it in order to remote stop it, nor will you be able to hit the unlock button on the fob after remote starting to get into the vehicle without sticking the key into the keyhole. This scenario ONLY applies to after remote starting, and NOT at any other time. If not remote starting, the fob works as it does now without the remote start. So, we are not rendering anything useless; it’s more of the method of doing the same thing is a little less convenient but that doesn’t bother some more than the wire snip does so some folks actually just accept this trade-off to avoid the wire snip. All kits out there require this snip and our Toyota Dealership accounts actually do this every day no questions asked. So, it’s more of something that is up to you. It all still works fine regardless.

I installed the N2 a couple of weeks ago. 21' OR. No issues. easy install. Just followed the youtube video tacomabeast did.

Works great and met my expectations. distance isn't stellar but that's not N2's issue. It will start truck from inside my house but not from my office to the parking garage.

If you want the distance, buy the N2 cellular upgrade.
