The T-Bones look yummy. I have started to venture into other cuts of meat on the grill or smoker. This week I have a flank steak to experiment with.

The Tacoma looks great and I like the color. I smiled as I read your post. My wife wants nothing to do with my Tacoma, I think she dislikes pick up trucks. I was also in Telecom. Started out with Ma Bell in 1968 as a station Installer and finished up as the Manager in charge of Telecom for a Mental Health and Substance Abuse HMO. We had offices in most states including Alaska and Hawaii. We also had an office in Canada and Puerto Rico.

If you have the time look at this video on 321 ribs. A different take, for competition ribs, not necessarily for backyard cooking.

Finally got the roof on the gazebo. It's 12' x 14' my wife wants the wall on the Western exposure, but I'd like something like a shade that could be raised and lowered as needed.

The lawn is looking a little parched but comes back when it rains. Life on a well, you start to appreciate saving water for the little things in life like a shower. I'd still like to build an outdoor shower behind the shed. Also thinking of making part of the shed into a simple cottage for cross country cyclists. Just a place to stop and shower is appreciated. I used to cycle all over the world, so most appreciative of people who allowed me to pitch a tent and have a place to stay for the night.

    Good morning everyone.

I put some under hood LEDs on the Tacoma yesterday morning, then cut the grass after the dew finally dried. Of course, with the sun being not as hot and less hours to work this time of year the clippings didn't dry enough to pick them up. So, that's my today project.

I'm on tap to give a presentation on leadership this evening to a group of local junior executives - should be fun.

    Stay safe out there!!!

I've had ongoing problems with dehumidifiers for years. My newest one doesn't like to gravity drain. Every 3-4 weeks it will shut off because the internal bucket is full. Drain tube is new, correct 3/8"ID, everything's clean, new air filter, new hose fitting to 3/8"ID clear tubing adapter, drain line runs 10' slightly down hill to an open drain. Out of frustration, I installed a condensate pump, and it's been pump draining just fine for a couple months. I didn't really want a pump, but apparently water doesn't automatically run downhill, like I thought. May revisit the gravity drain, when the pump expires, and it will.

I had a similar problem with my central AC. When I used a really expensive filter it restricted the airflow so much that the evaporator fan drew a vacuum on the condensate drain and the condensate overflow switch would shut down the system. My “fix” is using cheaper filters and changing them more often.

Looks fantastic. I hope to build the same next year. I would turn it into an outdoor kitchen/BBQ center with a reading sofa for the wife.

Retirement has not slowed you down at all. One of the mods that I never got around to is LED lighting under the hood. I hardly ever drive at night nowadays so it probably will not happen for me.

Today is simple, put a net over the pond to keep the leaves out of the pond.

I am looking for a replacement computer monitor. I am not a gamer so I do not need that added expense in a monitor. I would like the monitor to be UHD4K, 32 inch, with a curved screen. Anyone have a recommendation? So far I am down to Samsung, BenQ, and Dell. The dell is actually $30 less expensive on Amazon that from Dell, go figure.

Have a safe day out there today.

The drain hole may be freezing up on you. On a refrigerator, there will be a heating element for defrosting, onto which you can wrap a couple turns of bare AWG 10 copper wire, having both ends extend down into the drain hole. I'm not sure if this info would be relevant in your case, but just an idea for you to kick around.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch People! Well, yesterday didn't come close to the basic plan; dropped LBR off, then came home and wife and I were clearing overgrown Cardinal vine off the Yew and gate in front before it got too hot. It got hot anyway. I wiped my brow and thought I got something in my eye, so I went in and rinsed my eye out. The pain came back, and when we got done, a ton of allergy eyedrops, red and swollen. I looked it up later, and discovered all parts of the vine are toxic (and can be hallucinogen!) to people and pets. Now, clearing these vines is an annual event, so from now on, gloves it is. Eye is still fighting back this morning. Freezer will wait another week, because the trash is out.

Still waiting on promised Amazon nuts and bolts I can't get here, that were delayed. Guess it will keep me out of the greenhouse until we drop a few degrees. Oh well.....

Thanks for the dehumidifier advice, but I just have a little B&D brick that's in the sunroom. Drains into it's own basin, and we empty daily in most seasons. Actually, when running, the only thing you hear is a quiet fan - nice little unit. Actually, when it's NOT running, we hear the noises. They are odd....probably just going to set it on a little bench near me today, see how easily I can work inside it, and go from there!

And meant to post yesterday that I tried @95SLE method for the Sunday 321 (180), (250), (180 but I raised a little...), instead of all 225. Popular and well enjoyed, except for me....TOO DANG TENDER again! Right off the bone without help. I'm going to watch that video today, since I can see a little better....

Thanks Carl. She's somewhat better, still in the hospital. She'll need 24hr. care from here on out.

    Good morning everyone!!

I was able to get all the grass clippings picked up yesterday - this grass is growing way too quickly. ANd it doesn't help that I have a mild grass allergy. Ugh.

I also received the V2 Dual Color Map Lights from MESO so I popped those in. The old Army guy in me loves the red lights when I open the doors at night. Light discipline. :D Now I'm waiting for my V5 Switchback mirror turn signal lights.

I gave a presentation on leadership skills at an executive leader development session last night. I enjoy doing it - lets me interact with leaders from various parts of our community....and I got a great surf and turf dinner, too.

Today is drain the hot tub and clean out the jets day.

    Be safe!!

Thanks for the replies Alan, Kevin. I had considered that, and it has a fine mesh screen filter that I clean monthly, even though it never gets dirty enough to restrict airflow. The dehumidifier is working ok now, I may just leave it with a pump since it's working. I have other fish to fry before cold weather.

And welcome Kevin. Nice writeup, nice truck!

THX Carl. I have a Asus upstairs and I did look at them but the cost was more than I wanted. I ended up buying a Dell 32in curved 4K monitor.

Ribs look OK to me. As the cook the #1 priority is cooking for your guests, in this case the wife. There is no good reason to not cook for the wife. If you like the ribs a little firmer you can always cut the rack in half. I am the then only one that likes spicy ribs so I add the heat once the ribs are cut and ready for serving.

Today is bed linen wash day and a music lesson. Have a safe and productive day.

:pumpkin: Good Morning Porchies! Official Fall came last night with a nice North wind that set off the East camera 51 times! And it's a mere 66* this AM. Will only be like 87* the rest of the week! (Yeah, I know. This is Texas). All my stuff finally came, so I can start messing with the greenhouse.

I sort of missed some stuff.... Harry, you look good, my friend! 06, sorry to hear about your SIL - all our best if you will.

Well, time to put out the Halloween garden flag out front!
