Yup, those beers went down nicely. Which reminds me….. ok… give me a sec…..Paulaner Octoberfest is officially restocked in fridge!

Yesterday, we ran out of chilled ones (even though there were plenty left in the box). It could’ve been a tragedy of epic proportions. But then I remembered germans drink their beers at “cellar” temperature….which is to say “whatever the temp is in the shade”.

So thankfully crisis averted by quick thinking on my part. James agreed with my line of reasoning, and we continued drinking without interruption.

I like those Germans… smart folks.

Thank you! I definitely don't want to cheap out on it, which is why I'm not rushing into it. I was considering a second battery that could be charged by the alternator and also isolated when the truck isn't running. I know there are relays for that.

I'll look into those solar panels you mentioned.

I've been using a 77qt cooler, so I figured a 40-45qt fridge would suffice. I just need to pick out the stuff and do it.

As usual, my wallet thanks you for helping it stay slim.

    Thanks again for those!

Sorry to run out today. Luckily I had the right allen wrench and my buddy was able to get home.

    Did you finish up?

You can also do something like a dometic PLB40 or goal zero yeti 500x/1500x

Lots of options out there lol just depends how much money you wanna spend ;) dometic runs 15-20% off sales pretty regularly

My last trip i did, i ran my fridge off a yeti 1500x and 130w solar panel. When i got home, the yeti was still at 100%. The yeti 1500x is good for 4+ days of fridge with no input (tested earlier this year with mine).. which is totally overkill unless you’ve got other stuff you are gonna run off it. I got it so i have power to work remotely from anywhere i want. Laptop sucks down way more power than my fridge lol
    https://www.overlandsolar.com/collections/portable-solar-panels/products/bugout-130-solar-charger

If you are doing solar, you definitely want a MPPT controller.

@Thatbassguy thats good news on your buddy getting the car fixed. What a humble allen wrench can do...

If anybody was wondering about the extended driveway beer sessions, they were in service of gitn' this done before the next big trip:

The best part was when one hook was in my thumb, and the other was still stuck in a Sea Trout shaking it's head to try to get free. :goingcrazy:

And anyone going to Beadlockers on Saturday.
For those coming on I43 and taking the HY 42 exit expect traffic backups because of the Rider Cup at Whistling Straights. A different route would to get off I43 at HY 23 west. Take 23 west a few miles to HY32. Go north on 32 and takes you straight to Beadlockers.
Anyone coming up from the Madison area taking HY151 to HY23 stop at my house. I live east of FDL just off of HY 23

It’s just a swap meet at a mom & pop off road supply shop. Some walking around, usual bs’ing, and some beers/food after at 3 Sheeps Brewery .

Bad for my wallet but good for @WiscoPat. I bought his roof rack and awning.

It was nice to see a few of the TW peeps.
