It's kinda "well known" that they are running a couple weeks behind, and I can't answer as to whether or not your dealer factored that into you build date projection.
We're still in the "couple weeks" window from your scheduled build date.
Regardless, they should (within a couple days) be able to provide you with either a temporary or permanent VIN that you can enter in the Toyota site (https://toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification) and find the specs on your truck.

Thanks Man, I appreciate the info. I'm going to reach out and see if they will provide me with some sort of VIN. I didn't special request this truck, rather they told me it showed up on their allocation list one day and I just happened to be in the market at the right time and immediately made a deposit for a Manual PRO, was hunting for an OR Manual in Cement with no luck. It sounds like the truck was allocated prior to my deposit so I am hoping that I am in the clear. Seems to be a lot of frustrations for those that are requesting certain models and are just crossing fingers that their dealer gets allocated that certain model

This truck buying experience has been so different than any other vehicle I have bought, and there have been many! Interesting times we live, and drive, in for sure and Im totally perplexed on the whole car buying/selling (new and used) situation right now.

Being overly anxious for my new truck, I have a stack of mods starting to show up and still no solid word on delivery date.... lol

I waited about 60 days. They found a truck similar enough to what I wanted, voodoo blue, manual, 4x4, off road, that they could get it and modify it a little. I put down my deposit in on 7/2 and the original delivery was estimated at 8/26. It got pushed back to 9/10 then back forward to 9/1 and back again to I think 9/4 it ended up showing up at the dealership on 9/1 or 9/2. All in all not bad and I ended up getting probably 3k more for my 2016 SR5 than I was expecting. They made me an offer sight unseen and stuck with it, I was honest about the details and they made an offer and stuck to it. I'll encourage people to use that dealership, they're straight up.

Yeah, the world has moved on.

My wife decided to get me a truck for my 50th birthday this year (which was July 1). We went to the dealership in earlish June, expecting it to be a no brainer.
    Truck finally arrived August 25.

They had some "expected" allocations on the list.

From what your dealer said, you should be in pretty good shape, but you know, dealers and all.
    Best of luck.
I'd defiantly reach out for a VIN. My sales guy sent me an email every week (mostly) with some sort of status, even if it was just "same as last week", but also didn't get frustrated with me when I had questions.
He's/She's basically getting paid to answer your questions, so don't feel bad about bugging him/her.

Have you tried calling the dealer. There could be a slight possibility that when the dealer took delivery they installed some things like door edge guards or window tint or some other BS and added it to the Toyota history and it triggered it to say date of first use but usually once it’s sold it get marked as first use and the date it was sold.

I haven't called yet because the voicemail I got on the 16th said middle of this week, so I'm cooling my jets and giving them a chance to follow-up with me hopefully by tomorrow. The dealership is doing pinstripes and window tint whether I want (to pay for) them or not, so I'm reassuring myself that's what's been going on between the 15th and now. I found a post from mid-July from someone that had a VIN showing date-of-first use July 14th but they didn't get called to pick up the vehicle until the 16th, and that has calmed me some. I have a tendency to micromanage everything and get worked up only to have it all work out in the end, so I'm trying to let it work itself out this time. There's already been some friction with this dealership and I'm trying not to make a total pest of myself.

Hopefully that’s just it. If the dealer isn’t too far away I would drive through the lot and just see if it’s there. That or go in to the parts department and browse around or bs about something and then use that as an excuse to swing by sales and see how everything is going.

They're about 15 minutes down the road, I've definitely thought about driving by. We were actually going to swing by on our way back into town Sunday evening but were too tired of driving to go at all out of our way. I've gone ahead and activated the Safety Connect subscription in the last 2 minutes though, and it's only been driven 9 miles, so I'm going to stop hyperventilating now.

Hoping the best for you. Knowing it hasn’t been driven much that may be a really good sign. Keep us updated

Just so share my final dates as has been the tradition in this thread...

    My build:
2021 TRD Off Road, Double Cab Short Bed, Manual Transmission, Premium Package, Advanced Tech Package, Army Green
No other additions except All Weather Floor Mats and Door Seal Protectors

    May 4 - Put down $500 deposit
nothing but a prayer waiting period of 2 months
    July 14 - Allocation date
    Aug 11 - Build date
Sept 17 - Arrived at dealership
Sept 20 - Home at last

Total waiting time 140 days (4 months 17 days). Original estimated wait was 120 days, so really not too far off.
Tony Divino in Ogden, UT was extremely honest and easy to work with. Paid MSRP
Was it worth the wait... YES :mudding:

Now it's time to save my pennies and start tackling this list of mods.

On July 23 I was given a build date of Aug 30. That was pushed to Sept 3. I got a call Sept 16 that it was at the dealership (SoCal). Drove it home on Sept 19.

SiriusXM has now sent me their "confirmation needed" email and Toyota has sent their welcome to the family email complete with the VIN, but still nothing from my sales manager. My anxiety is through the roof! LOL

I think it's a VIN that they give you, before the car is built? It would stop working when it's done, and in transit. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the call today that my 21 Wind Chill Pearl Nightshade has arrived at the dealership! Ordered on June 17th and it looks like it was well worth the wait!
They have a few additions to do for me before I get to bring it home but it is a great relief to have actually put a hand on it tonight.
