I grew up in a neighborhood where shots popped off fairly regularly so I just learned to sleep through it

 

After seeing the thread with the guys driveshaft exploding ive decided to grab a grease tube and gun omw home from work today. I have a slight side to side vibe/shake at 65-70 mph i originally thought to be alignment; However, ive not greased since purchase and live in az. not risking it

 

Might as well check the u joints too

 

check for play on the driveshaft? how does one check em? Thanks for the recommendation

 

There's only play to check after you've been ignoring the noise and vibration for a few months

Ujoints are a lifetime part.
Unless you don't grease ALL zerks at oil changes.

 

Carrier bearing has wiggle room.
Ujoints shouldn't.

 

I grease mine once a year and do 15k miles a year. Good grease doesnt just disappear/go bad every 5k miles.
