So i installed a 3inch spacer lift in the front and an Add a leaf in the back on my 2020 trd sport. its now making mad squeaky noise. I also had the alignment down to correct the caster. did anyone use lithium grease ? and were did you put it ? try to narrow down where the noise is coming from now. any pointers are appreciated.

My assumption would be the sound is coming from the rear, and if so it’s likely the leaf packs making noise. It’s a common issue on Tacoma’s, often power washing the packs can remedy it for a little while. They have “silencer pads” on them that ironically accumulate dirt and then squeak like crazy.

Thanks for the response, it is definitely coming from the back. I read up a little and some people are saying Iighr need an axle shim to correct the angle of the driveshaft. Apparently it's off and that what makes it kinda loose. I'll also try pressure washing it like u said. But I doubt it would work. I've only had the truck since March.

The spare tire could also be loose and that can make noise. But again, myself I’m banking on it being the leaf springs. The amount of time you’ve owned it is more than long enough for it to have accumulated road grime and dirt. Can happen as well due to high humidity, rain, driving down dirt roads, through sandy environments, the list goes on and on.

I hope regardless of what it is you pinpoint it and get it squared away.

Thanks for the tips. I'ma take it back to where it was done and have them re torque a the nuts in the rear. Just in case something is loose. Worst case install the shims. It just drives me nuts that it only happens when I first accelerate and slow down. It's when the weight of the truck shifts back and foward.

I doubt it is, but that could also lend theory to it being a loose spare tire. It wouldn’t move much over bumps but when the weight of the vehicle shifts around so would the tire, like in accelerating and decelerating.

I’m not certain how long I had owned my truck at the time, but I know I had a horrible squeak that I couldn’t track down. One day I just happened to be looking under the truck and accidentally touched the spare tire and it moved slightly and made the exact same *squeak*.

WD-40 all the bushings. I just fixed my mad squeak in the back from my cheap ass temporary lift by WD-40ing all the bushings.

WD-40 is a horrible lubricant. Something like silicone or teflon based aerosols are much better.

WD-40 is really good at washing away all the old grease and leaving nothing though... so it works for a short period or if you want to clean away all the old grease before you apply more.

What do you recommend I replace it with when it fades? Preferably something I can just spray in the cracks like WD-40.

What add-a-leaf did you go with? Did it come with the anti squeak pads on the ends?
