I'm liking the powertrain in the new Tundra.

Might pick one up in second/third year of release.

the hybrid model or just the turbo model? The outside looks like hammered ass and I don’t know how long airbags and coil springs will hold up on a half ton truck. Dodge tried that in their 1 ton and it did not stick. It’ll probably hold up but I’d be embarrassed to drive that thing.

Hybrid. I'll make up my mind when more info comes out. I'm either going to get something bigger to tow better, or something smaller to DD.

I really dislike the pro grill but the regular doesn't bother me.

 

the hybrid model has a reduced towing capacity just an FYI. Not sure what the value will be but the non hybrid is 12k

 

Where'd you see the hybrid has less towing cap?

 

go to the 12:30 mark. It’s implied but the fellow doesn’t state the capacity.

 

I’ll wait for Toyota’s official numbers. Along with their pricing because it’s probably gonna be expensive

 

yeah, I’ll stick to my manual 7.3 and mount a laptop on the dash, be just as good if not better than a tundra and I take that extra 60k and retire early. Too many fancy doo dads and useless features to go wrong. Can’t imagine having to service that thing if something with the electronics or battery goes awry. It’ll come down to just bringing it in to the dealer and getting a new truck, just like a cell phone when you break the screen LOL.

 

Make sure it’s all correct before they walk away. Like the roof panels aren’t too short at the peak or anything
