It's a service campaign, not a true recall. Trucks in general are prone to this type of thing on occasion. I ended up replacing the 3rd brake light on my previous truck (GMC) when it began leaking as well.

I found out about the recall at my Toyota dealership on Tuesday when I went in for an oil change.

They couldn't do it because of heavy rains all day, told me that weather had to be dry to perform the work.

It's it a new seal or do they just throw some silicon in there? If it's just silicon, I'll do it myself and save the dealership hassle.

I think the issue was fixed before the newer Tacos 2020-2021 came out. So far no leaks on my Taco and I got through the touch less car wash once a week.

Not too sure if the third break light that is on the top part of the back window is also a cargo light for the bed on my Taco. Are yours the same.

So... I haven't been driving my Tacoma for a few months, it's been in the driveway, and we've had a few inches of rain.

I got in my truck today and it smells really really bad, and there was water in the trays behind the seat. I did some googling on what it could be, and I'm 100% affected by this issue.

Super crappy part is the fact that I have a full shell on the bed of my truck, that has a good water seal.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

Is that a combination break light and cargo lamp?

It is kind of hard to see if you are sitting in the cab lol. I will get someone to stand behind the truck and see what happens when I turn the cargo light from inside the cab on. Then step on the brakes at the same time and then he will tell me what lights come on then this way it takes the guessing out.

I've seen lots of 16 and 17s on TW with the leaks but has anyone seen 18 and 19's? I really, really don't want to visit the dealership if there are no examples of leaks.

My buddies '16 third brake light leaks badly after heavy rain. He's happy I told him about fleet campaign to remedy the issue.

I had my recall done even though I did not experience any issues with water intrusion on my '18.

I’m not sure what you mean? Truck is a 2019
Looks to me like all the others showing them here.
