I thought E load was supposed to be harsh! Not a lot of comfort difference between these and the stock kevlars, either on the freeway or aired down to 20 psi off pavement. 265/75 16, 6112/5160.

Thanks to Discount Tire for setting this up locally.

You'll probably take a bigger hit on fuel economy with the E rated being so much heavier.

I'm looking at putting these on the family hauler, as they are currently running $100 off promo at DT.

i went from a E-load to S-load, 2 yrs ago, 12 lbs. lighter, my MPG maybe changed 1 MPG. i have a new set of E-Load waiting in garage to be put on soon,, So for me the lighter tire, did not have much impact on MPG, im going back to the stiffer sidewall.

It's far too early to offer feedback on mpg, but my expectation is no mpg difference on the highway with E load. City mpg is all about how much the brakes are used, so I expect a small decrease there (more rotational mass means more energy to scrub off). We'll see, it takes a long time to get a good feel for mpg, there are too many variables.

Had the new Grabber ATX's on for a couple weeks now in 265/70R16 and have experienced on and off road in both wet and dry and I have to say, I REALLY like them!! Off road I knew they'd be good but was surprised how nice they ride on road and how quiet they are. I'm looking forward to trying them this winter in the snow!

Just picked up a set of 4 from Discount Tire to replace some AT3 4s lasted about 35k miles. Previously had the Grabber AT2's and loved them.

Had general A/T tires on my tundra....great tire in deep snow, but be careful my first set couldn't be balanced and the second set was only a bit better. I put up with them for a few weeks before getting a set of goodyear adventure tires.....100% better on the highway, but nowhere as good in snow as those generals. For some reason the generals shook at various speeds, no matter how they were balance.

    HAHA Thanks. Agreed.
To give a bit more of a review on these since mounting and pavement, highway, offroad use.
    Wonderful!!
    • SUPER grippy. No more burnouts...
    • Quiet considering I would say these are more of an an R/T not am A/T.
    • Look fantastic
    • Winter rated (yet to be determined)
    • Unreal offroad, very grippy and pulls through amazing in muddy conditions
    • Deep, tight tread (rocks get stuck easy) GENERAL PEBBLE GRABBERS
    • HEAVY but can't tell other than size increase causing some gearing changes
    • Noticed they didn't shed water well going through some deep puddles in the city (hydroplane)

The tread pattern is nearly identical to the AT2, so I don't know that I agree with the R/T comment. I had 2 sets of the AT2 on my Tacoma and I loved them, but they would kick out on me on wet roads. I just chalked it up to being a truck with a composite bed and having virtually no weight on the back end of the truck. I loved the AT2 and the ATX are high on my list for next tire purchase. All that said, I agree with your assessment of the performance. I even thought they did really well in wintery conditions.

Thanks for the insight. I’m actually kinda looking forward to snow…. as for the R/T thoughts. I moved up from TOYO ATii and the tread on those is like a street tire in comparison. Agreed, not an R/T but def. more aggressive than most AT’s I’ve seen. Really deep tread.

Yep. I went with the Yoko Geo G015 AT tires and the tread is definitely more like a highway tire. I would have gotten more General tires, but they weren't available in the size I wanted to try. As far as the "image" is concerned, the Yoko's are kind of boring....but I've been impressed with them so far in the limited amount of trail time that I've had since installing them.

Nice tire, let's be honest with ourselves.. we DO spend more time on pavement than any other surface, so from a function over form standpoint, that makes most sense... These big douche rigs rollin around town on MT's that have never even beed on a gravel road..... come on.
