    Hey guys,
My 2015 TRD sport (60k miles) had the check engine light come on about 2,000 miles ago. I read the code and it was a P0456 very small leak. I took it to the dealer and they did a smoke test but the tech said he couldn’t find a leak and to keep running it until it got worse.

the light came back on and now throws the codes:
P043E evap system leak detection reference orifice low flow
P043F Evap emission system leak detection reference orifice high flow
P2401 evap emission system leak detection pump control circuit low
P2402 evap emission system leak detection pump control circuit high
P2419 evap emission system switching valve control circuit low

any idea what in the world this is and any fix ideas?

I assume it's a 4.0. Put a new gas cap on it ( probably a bad seal ), reset the light and go from there.

Hi Jonathan, I should have mentioned that I put a new gas cap on. Bought an OEM cap, but that didn't work.

Sounds like water ingestion scenario with those codes.
As long as they put it back together right.
You need to have that looked at and using a scan tool activate the pump etc.
If it’s all secure your poss. looking at a canister / pump assembly..

Really interesting you say that. When we get a heavy rain, the engine will make a noise that sounds like a belt slipping. But after I drive it a few miles it will go away. Its one of those things that by the time I get it to the shop, the noise would have stopped. Do you think water is getting into the "system" somehow? Sorry, I'm not super mechanical. Just enough to be dangerous.

And the noise/squeal has been going on for a while and before I had them do the smoke test.

    Belt squeak is not related.
What I’m saying is it sounds like you have a pump failure and with or without water ingestion
These are the codes that pop up. We have had problems like that and on occasion just plain failures.

Ok. So any idea why I get the squeak/squeal after a rain?

If it is a belt squeak it could be
    Bad pulley
    Dirty pulley face
    Or just a bad belt

    mine was a bad belt

Hey all, have similar codes going on. Is it possible to clean out the leak detection pump as a temporary measure?

negative. It has a crimped over seal for the two halves. Once you take it apart there’s no going back together and dealing up again.
