You don’t know you NEED a loader until you have one, as such, you never knew you needed 4wd until you have a machine that has it (don’t get a loader without 4wd)
My junk is orange, but I’ve had it for over 10 years, it was supposed to be a temporary (2-3years) acquisition but I cannot bring myself to get rid of it. 24hp diesel (basic maintenance and it runs like a top) 60” 3 blade belly mower (one acre with obstacles 1hour mowing) 60” box blade (to large for machine technically, but small bite it’ll eat an elephant) FEL 1/3yd bucket 54” wide, gravel, dirt, logs, general crap, generators, engines, heavy stuff you don’t wanna lift…..or carry….and the option to run PTO powered “things”.
Neighbor had 4 oaks taken out last week, I scored 2 logs, daughter and I cut them up and hauled them back into the yard yesterday.

I mix them at their recommended rate in the same sprayer. So I'll add a gallon of water to the sprayer and put the dose for 1 gallon mix of Bifen, then the recommended dose for 1 gallon of Permetherin.

    Why you no post?

    Awfully quiet in here.

Road trip in the morning for a couple Toro ZMasters. I'm guessing 12 hours behind the wheel.

I did a little bit over the weekend. Stripped peeling powdercoat off the seatback of my 3205 and repainted it. Refurbed the toolbox/seatbase and all hardware.

Yeah if I take parts off I like to refurb them. I have a real pet peeve with rust. Especially rusty hardware. I hate seeing rusty bolts on my machines.

    Started on the trailer today.

Cut some additional supports and welded them in.

What's the dementions? Are you adding an axle or moving that one forward?

Forgive me if I already asked. I suffer from CRAFT.

If you don’t need a fel the x758 is a great tractor built to last a lifetime. I have the x758 and a kubota b2650 tlb with a snow plow for winter. Could easily plow with the x758 most of the time, but once in a while we get hit with a 2’ plus storm when I’m on the road and nothing really slows the b2650 down.

5 x 12, not moving the axle, it's going to be a mobile chicken coop, if we leave town, drop coop off at family/friends house.

For some reason I never think to grab pictures when I’m working on either the 318 or 9N….might have something to do with seemingly being constantly covered in hydro oil. Getting PM done before snow season gets here

I had the deck off the 318 to weld up a few cracks and re-engineer the tensioner pulley location since it wasn’t in the factory location when I got it and was throwing belts from time to time. Got everything in alignment and it now takes the correct 48” deck belt. Moved the plow too and the second spool hydro is still happy and functional.

The gt500’s 3 point was leaking down bad. Less than 5 minutes from turning the tractor off to have it sink from raised to on the ground. So I pulled the top cover off to swap out the metal ringed lift piston to an NAA o-ring piston that’s supposed to be a big improvement over the metal ringed piston that was whooped in mine. Of course I dropped the control valve into the pump so I had to pull the PTO shaft and pump out the bottom to find the valve after 2 hours of unsuccessful hunting with a magnet from the top. It’s a learning curve for me to lean on the service manual for info because it’s from a time before there was a tutorial for everything written up on forums

The GT500 is back together with the 3 point holding pressure great now. I appreciate a 70 year old tractor still kicking, but the 1/4” cast iron everything is a bear to handle at times…the top cover with lift arms had to weigh 80 lbs and most recommend an engine hoist to R&R it. 5 fresh gallons of oil and it’s ready to go for snow season now.

    B21FF3D2-0447-43A8-8B1B-F274D8F2A4C7.jpg

Gave it a bath with the pressure washer afterwards and it rewarded me with a non-start until after it dried out. Fired right up after 15 mins of drying though. The front mount distributors hate water/moisture on them apparently

How'd you dry it? The wife's hair dryer and a couple cold ones to keep you occupied?

Isn't there an O-ring that goes where you have the black circle of gasket maker? I worked on a Ford 601 lift many years ago and think I remember one being there for the fluid that goes through that hole.

Somehow my wife doesn’t have one and I didn’t want to stand there with a heat gun so it just got a nice air dry from some serious north winds we’ve had lately.

No provisions for an o-ring there so I just threw some Toyota FIPG around that hydro passage as extra insurance against leaks. Probably some sort of sacrilege but fuck if I was going to take that top cover off again for a leak there

It was a good day. I'm off today because I work this weekend in the hospital--Covid ICU duty tomorrow. Had 4 bucks in my yard this AM ranging from 6-10pts. Pic is from my phone taking the pic thru my binoculars. Got my seatback and seat base/toolbox back together and on the Cub 3205. Also made a pin out of a roll up door spread rivet to fix the retention problems that plague Cub XT3's battery boxes--the clowns used 2 plastic clips that snap over a rod and don't hold.

Kayaked with the wife after 11AM then stopped at the best burger place in NW AR--CJ's Butcher Boy. You order at the cold case. They are grinding meat when you order and you order like this : What cheese? What condiments? What toppings? Mine was pepper jack, mayo, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno.
