Anyone else have to double click the toggle switch to change the color? Just got these today (as im sure many of you have as well) and i noticed i have to double click the toggle switch to go from red to white and vice versa. Also i noticed it only happens upon first initial change, rest of the changes thereafter only require one click unless i let it ‘sit’ in one color for more than ~10 secs. Although sometimes i am able to initially change color with one click, it is rare and very finnicky. Other than that, these lights are AMAZING as are the rest of his products. I was finally able to snag a set to match my dual color dome lights, which dont have this ‘feature’ when changing colors. I dont mind having to double click i was just wondering if this was a feature of the new lights or if i got a defective set.. hoping @MESO can chime in.

FWIW my set also came with the plastic lid on backwards so :notsure:

Update: so i guess the driver’s side got fixed—only one click to change color. Passenger’s side still requires two clicks upon initial color change. Somehow this makes me feel even worse as now my truck feels uneven  hoping this is something that will resolve itself in time. As for tonight, i think im done messing with these lights. My head hurts from all the flashing red and white lights from me trying to resolve this myself.

Update: Driver’s side having the same issue again. Already filled out a form at the bottom of the @MESO website. Still hoping this is part of the ‘break-in’ process, otherwise it may just be something i will have to get used to. I like this product, but i cant justify spending $130 for a pair of working lights.

Are you changing anything while trying to fix this or is it just randomly happening?

Probably past the point where you should be messaging or calling the vendor.

The button works fine if it has been depressed recently so i tried spamming the toggle button hoping i can get it to stay ‘primed’. This worked on the drivers side for about a day, but today it has been getting less and less consistent. Tried the same thing on the passengers side last night and it hasnt held at all. I was hoping either one of you guys may have a solution or @MESO would get back to me first before i start tampering with it (as i am not very mechanically inclined nor do i want to void any potential warranty).

Also, i checked all corners of the toggle button thinking there may be a dead spot to no avail. In addition, i experimented with different positioning of the actual map light itself (common sense told me this wouldn’t work but i was desperate).

And ofc, i tried turning them on and off again:rofl:

Just ordered a set. Hopefully this isn’t widespread. My other Meso gear has been great.

Update: Both sides needed three clicks to change color yesterday. Got lucky one time last night and was able to switch color with one click each. Wouldnt be so much of a problem if these lights would make up their mind. Because of this issue when i go to change the lights i either:
    1.) single click/works
    2.) single click/doesnt work/click again
3.) fast double click /doesnt work but changes color
4.) fast double click/works/ends up flashing a rapid change of color in my face/click a third time to intended color

*work = changes color with one click

Ideally, i want result number 1 or 3. I dont like having to wait and see which result i get (especially when im showing off my brand new lights to others). Consistency is key.

Still waiting for @MESO to chime in by the way. In the meantime im open to any advice in terms of repair. Ive been posting/replying to more threads in hopes of getting my post count high enough to bring this issue up on the buy/sell/trade thread on these lights, as I noticed @MESO is more active there.

Sorry for the spam but after a year long wait (and signing up for an email notification i never got) i was excited to finally get these on my truck. Now i have to deal with these daily headaches stemming from frustration and staring at these flashing red and white lights for so long. Maybe i set my expectations too high?

Sorry I need to get on the 2nd Gen threads a little more. I have had some feedback on a few that the FIRST click takes 2 clicks. But thereafter it’s single. It could be a capacitor tolerance, and I am happy to send out a new set for you to try! I want my customers to be happy and it work as advertised. Just shoot us a ticket at the bottom of the website and we can get a new pair. I hope this is just an isolated set

No worries, thanks for reaching out @MESO !! Thats good to hear, as i wouldnt want to replace these with any other product. For the ticket number, is that the same as the order number? Also i already sent a contact/help form a few days ago, should i send another one under “warranty claim” or would you rather i submit a return request?

I have to press and hold mine to switch, not just a tap.

Just popped mine in. The switching seems to work really well, and it’s nice to have them independently controlled.

Update: Got the new set of lights installed. Thanks again @MESO !! Customer service is great. Unfortunately, im still having the same issues. Can’t find a reason as to why my truck in specific would cause these problems. Gonna give it a day or two, hopefully it resolves itself. If anyone knows how these things work im open to solutions.

Only thing i cant think of that sets my truck apart is the tabs that hold the light in place are a little bent on the passenger side but i tested the lights before installing them (wired up, as to make sure the issues werent due to a lack of pressure when pushing the switch) and it was still having the same problems. Like i said, i dont think theres anything different in my truck that would cause the lights to act dysfunctionally, so if any of you guys know how to fix/service these kinds of things im open to suggestions.
