DRL fuse location help

I know it’s been awhile since this post was live but I am trying to connect two LED small lights to my DRL. I have noticed that the drl 10A fuse under the hood in the main fuse box is alway hot with the key on or off. The small fuse box has a DRL relay in it. Is it possible to tap power from that relay that can come on when key is on?

 

What do you mean by splice the wires from the relay?

 

You won't be able to tap into relay, but you can tap into the wire that goes to your drl lights. Look up t4r(taco twonz) YouTube channel. These guys have step by step instructions.

 

PM @daveeasa for a T harness to the DRL wires at the headlight harness, no cut.

 

I don't have any good samples to take a photo of but if anyone wants to follow the link in my signature to the OEM LED conversion harness with grille light tap, it has most of the relevant items. The only difference for a straight up DRL tap would be the output connector. Or you can purchase the same thing from R4T if you for sure want the combo DRL + Park. Note that the DRL shuts off when parking lights are on, hence the need for diodes and combining the two signals for the behavior most of us might want.

 

Is it not when the Low beams are selected?

Does anyone know how to fix this.. I changed my headlights out now one side will light up the led strip the other the yellow.if I switch them around the same thing happens so I know it's not the strip. When I turn the turn signal on the one with the with the white led on will blink the yellow strip for the turn signal and the one with the yellow strip on will blink the white light for the turn signal...i bought bulb resistors for it but got the wrong ones they are for the high and low beams two prong plug..i thought I found the right ones and bought h13 plug Bulbs Resistor still Wong plug..they do have the three prong that's why I thought they were the right one..I have a 2017 access cab tacoma...also my drl lights don't turn on I checked my fuses and change them out...i did see some one mentioned a smaller fuse box in the engine bay I can't locate that one...any help would be much appreciated..

You say access cab, so I am assuming SR/SR5?

Verify that the circuits on the headlamp match the pigtail circuit.

 

What headlights are they? Are they made for the SR?

 

That's were I think I messed up i was hoping I could do something to the system if they weren't..

The White surround is DRL, the amber is the turn signal I assume? The easiest inexpensive way to do it will be to turn off the DRL if you can via the headunit settings, and run the DRL wire to the Fuse box to come on anytime the truck is on. Do you have a picture of the connectors on the headlight? I can make a conversion harness to go from SR to TRD fittings as well if you want it to still function with the stalk switch.

Ya the white is the DRL and the ambers the turn signal. And yes please if you can make something that would be awesome.

 

I can make something, and do at times. They aren't cheap though. I am selling them for $175 for the one you'd need. They are plug and play though, and require no splicing or anything. If you'd still be interested, let me know and I will add you to the list
