I didn't see this comment unfortunately, thank you for clearing that up. Although I do own a Tacoma and several other Toyotas, I work for Ford and thus quite limited a bit in access to anything too deep.

Thank you for that insight, as I never knew this before.

Sorry, but it is up to them what they list. I am gonna look around and see if anything else matches it and let you know. I do apologize regarding the VINs being temporary and not fully accurate, as to be honest everything I seem to do in relation to Toyota seems to be rather a conflict of interest.

I found the same information on 2022 4Runners and those are actually now at dealers this week. They began production in early August like the Tacomas, yet came from Japan and did so much faster...

Yes, just noticed this. :facepalm:Sorry about that, but thanks indeed. I am annoyed at someone telling me they're still building Tacomas alongside Tundras, yet they are nowhere to be found with the 5T VIN prefix. Toyota is just about to inaugurate production of Sequoia and need to be 100% TNGA in terms of manufacturing at TMMTX, so old 3G Taco cannot be there anymore and must be sourced from Mexico 100%. I don't know what the hell he is even talking about.

Interesting, thanks. I will provide a full list in fact soon.

Toyota is finding, bolder and brasher, is better for their profits, as the buyers can't get enough of it for some reason. A lot of folks said they hated the 3rd generation Tacoma, compared to the slightly more conservative 2nd generation. Yet this bolder looking truck has paid for a lot of slower selling Toyota and Lexus models with change still left. 4Runner has them gobsmacked, so supersize the Tacoma, plop on cues from the 4Runner TRD, echo the aggressive of Raptor even further, and call it the new Tundra. That's what they did.

Now if the 2024 Tacoma would get that new Tundra engine (3.5L Twin Turbo), that would be GREAT!

I'd bet it'd be quite a sight seeing that 3.5 twin turbo shoehorned in a tacoma.

The Tacoma has a 3.5 engine in it now. The turbos don't take up that much space. If so they can reduce the engine size and put in turbos. a 3.0 V6 with two turbos or even better a N/A 3.5 hybrid.

Change location and it will show the Pro. Can’t find the trail edition yet but for GST you can build a Pro.

Not sure how accurate it is. MSRP is the same as the 2021. Interesting on how that is going to work. From what I heard it was suppose to increase.

My guess for 2024 is the 2.5 4 cylinder hybrid with eCVT and carryover 3.5 V6 with 8 or 10 speed auto.

Yeah I thought the same, seems like Off-road got a slight $100ish MSRP bump in the builds I've been comparing

I don't think that year taco will have a V6, or an MT based on what I've seen. Pretty sure Toyota will do the same for the taco that they did on the new tundra, one base engine with add on options, ie hybrid or not.

    Just my guess of course.

I don’t think Toyota is interested in being the laughing stock of trucks so I doubt they’d go with a CVT of any kind in the Tacoma.

Why wouldn't it be? It's the next model year.

I'm pretty sure Toyota's eCVT is much different than regular CVTs. It actually uses regular gear sets and not pullies/belts. It then uses motors to vary how those gears operate. Could be wrong on this, but that's how I understand it. Either way, I highly doubt either of the Tundra engines will make it into the new Tacoma.

Heaven forbid they put a powerful engine in the Tacoma.....it'll cut into their Tundra sales. ;)

I doubt it, but a scaled down version is likely. Like a 3.0 liter hybrid. But would still be more powerful than the current 3.5 engine.

3.5 V6 with 10 speed would be a reason to get me to trade up!

Agreed. I could see a 3.0L Turbo with 10 speed. Thinking they could get some great HP/torque numbers and beat competition like the new Frontier.
