Since winter is around the corner from us.

What are everyone using for paint protection to get you through to the Spring?

Polish and a double coat of wax, then I don’t wash it until spring

Coat of wax in Oct/Nov gets me through spring. I run through a touchless wash all winter (as needed) and get the option with the hot spray wax. No idea how good it is, but by spring, water is still beading nicely.

    Either Mother's Synthetic or Carnuba.

The car wash has the various options/levels. I purchase the "Silver" which offers a hot spray wax after wash.

The Mother's Synthetic or Carnuba will last you that long? Here I will get get 2 months max.

The only hot at the car wash here is if you take a whizz on the car.

I wax 2X per year... usually late April/early May and again in fall. Seems to last just fine.

I've had pretty good luck with Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. Double coat of that stuff and I'm still beading up in April after our PNW rainy winter season.

My vehicles are ceramic coated. Usually a good wash followed by a booster like Carpro Reload.

Any salt gets sprayed off at first opportunity with water only at a pay n spray. If weather gets warm enough will do a rinseless wash.

Paint still looks great after 10+ years after doing this 2X per year. And it's not a pavement princess. And I park outside all year. Must be getting good weather/UV protection.

I'm not doubting you, but just surprise by the durability.

I'm about to detail my truck. I've found the following regiment to be easy and effective. Remember, the best wax is one you'll actually use.

    1. Wash, clay bar, then wash again. I use a capful of Klasse AIO in my wash bucket, nothing else is needed. A little soapy water or quick detailer for clay bar lube.
    2. Use Klasse AIO in the "normal" way as a wax. Apply it really thin, then buff it off when you get back around to the first panel. This stuff can go on any exterior surface, and I use it that way.
    3. Topcoat with something a little more durable. I'm going with Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic. Dead nuts easy to apply (never understate that aspect) and beads up like mad.
    4. I fill my wash and rinse buckets with warm water in the house to wash all winter long, still using Klasse AIO as a wash product. Hooray for mild CO winters! Oh, I also use the undercarriage sprayer attachment for my pressure washer to keep mag chloride off the undercarriage every couple weeks throughout the winter.

I'm going to try the turtle wax on my windows instead of Rain-X this winter and see how that goes. Rain-X is great but it wears off in no time when you burn through washer fluid like I have to in winter.
