Kinda sus, had the tstat flipped in my 5vz Tacoma, 3rz and 5vz 4runners

Could just be the smaller 5lug rad

 

I think he means they mangled/destroyed the t-stat, not that it was put in upside down

 

Oh... But it's not even possible to put it in backwards

How else could you fuck up a tstat?

He's simply saying the t-stat was broken when they installed it, not that it was installed incorrectly

I assume that's why the temp gauge was spiking

 

That would definitely make me run hot

I'm wondering if they didn't touch my t-stat if maybe there's a pocket of air in the system from when they filled it back up.

Bugs me so much to see my temps higher than normal, even though it's still within normal range...I want my 182 - 190 range back damnit.

I guess I should just be happy I'm not puking coolant all over the street anymore
