I'd like to replace the sliding rear window in my Access cab with solid glass. Although, I'd like to enhance the ventilation.

Idea: Is it possible to modify the windows on the rear doors to be "flip-out" type windows, either manual or electric?

I've had a ninnivan (family ride) when the yard apes were small that had electric flip-outs in the rear. My GMC Sonoma had manual flip-outs.

Perhaps this type of mod is well out of my wheelhouse and would need a professional shop to handle.

    Any thoughts???

There is no easy way to go about it. Ive looked into it quite a bit because my dog would love it.

The closest was this kit for FJ cruisers. The company was going to start on a taco version before they went under several years ago. It would probably be the easiest to replicate. Basically a frame that mounts where the window does and then a smaller window that mounts to that.

Then there’s this guy that made some awesome power windows but it took a TON of fab work, custom glass, and looks pretty expensive.

With enough money and fab work anything is possible but there is no easy order this part from this other toyota model kind of solution. He has a few other vids but this one gives the most detail.

    Thanks.....

I was not surprised this would be a major task.

Remember, the rear door windows in an Access Cab are fixed.

    Guess, I'll table this idea.
