I've had no problems with DHL in my area, but only got a few packages through them. FedEx Ground is garbage here.

You're not alone. Pineapple on pizza is gross.

    got a little trailer
    1/2 ton truck
    bigger trailer
    much bigger trailer
    3/4 ton truck -- with a 460 engine
Now I was limited in that I couldn't get things off the trailer
got the forklift -- now within reason there is nothing I can't haul home and unload...
Problem is -- there is nothing I can't haul home and unload... :der::crazy::der:

Today's episode of Past Tech with Rusty has us finishing up the front brake repair on the old Ford wagon.

One wheel cylinder had been leaking, combined with the brake dust the inside of the drum was a mess.

    KIMG1723.jpg

Grease seal pops out then the inner bearing lifts right out.

    KIMG1721.jpg

Kerosene cleaned up the bearings. You can use compressed air to gently dry the bearing but never spin them with air -- at best it damages the polished bearing surface -- at worst the bearing can explode in your hand.

    KIMG1725.jpg

Said no guy ever "I like packing bearings" -- this tool makes the job less bad.

    KIMG1726.jpg

You make a bearing sandwich and then use your grease gun.

    KIMG1728_01.jpg

It is "less" messy than doing it by hand.

    KIMG1729.jpg

New grease seals, use a small hammer with a block of wood over the seal to tap them in straight. Set the bearing (17-25 ft.lb and back off 1 castle for this application), use a new cotter pin on the castle nut and back on the road for another 55 years.

Mine has the grease reserve built in. Works the same.
    Nice to see….

Probably a lot of the younger folks on the forum have never seen these type of wheel bearings -- or front drum brakes.

Another day turning round parts into square. Started with 4” 304 bar, 1.8” thick. Finished size was 2.5” square. Lots of chips made on this one.

There should be a 10” long 13/16” drill bit laying in front of my toolbox when I get to the shop :D

I will have to make a tap extension.

Drill bit problem solved, had to turn the shank to .750” so I could hold it, it was 13/16” like the bit.
