I got a socket stuck in my aluminum wheels once, it was dumb but I couldn't find the narrower socket and the bigger one went in just far enough to align with the nut, so I hammered in the rest of the way. I immediately realized that was stupid. But I was hoping it would back out with the lugnut. It did, but only the as far as the studs go, then it just spun in place with the impact until it was totally galled in there.

Based in this I can definitely suggest, don't keep trying to spin it with an impact. It'll just gall up worse.

I was able to hammer mine out from the side because it stuck out far enough from the wheel. (Yours of course is buried in a head.) But I had to replace the stud and nut though because I had trashed them trying to go back and forth with the impact.

I think it would be difficult to cool the socket enough to free it--steel has much lower thermal conductivity that aluminum. But here's an idea: steel has like 2x lower thermal expansion than aluminum. Could you idle the engine up to temp? The head should expand more than the socket. Disconnect the injector and coil for this cyl so you aren't damaging the coil or the catalyst.

I would take some 3/8 steel key stock and turn a section round, so I could slip it in the socket and turn 45 degrees to grab as much socket as possible. Like this:

    I'm not an artist!

Hopefully the plug is low enough that this would fit. Then I would hope to pull it with a slide hammer. Good luck!
