I like that. Possibly the only problem with that location, is that it may interfere with the defrosting of the drivers side window; from the horizontal dash vent that can be obscured once the device is cradled.

Sorry for you loss brother and I feel your pain. This is why I run both front and rear cameras. I have sent video to both the officer on scene and my insurance company on previous occasions. This is especially important in no fault states where insurance companies negotiate who is footing the bill for the accident claim.

I have this same setup, including the bedrug, blue sea in that cubby face, and the XR ReTrax. You'll have about 17.5" of height between the bed and the top of the underside of the tonneau cover.

Stole the idea from another member but I did this and tied them into my raptor lights.

I sat inside it and felt it get wrecked while sitting at a red light. A 2003 Tacoma rear-ended me at 30 mph and pushed me into a 2007 Tundra. It was a Toyota wreckathon orgy. The 2003 Tacoma's front end is toast. The Tundra's trailer ball and hitch took the force and the Tundra is pretty unscathed. My Tacoma, not so much. It might buff out.
