What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

My son always said I needed side step bars, so here we are. He even helped me pick them out

 

Annual oil change today. Five quarts of Lucas full synthetic 5/30. Toyota filter from my old stash…I think I paid like $42 for a 10 pack. Then went to the emissions testing place. Closing in on 160k but passed without issue.

 

Found a white Undercover for $100

 

New lights make my day that much brighter

13’ Taco Pre-Runner 2” front lift( spacer leveling kit); Sumo Springs in the rear to replace stock bump stops and to help with rear sag when hauling our 15ft Camper.

 

Good news, NO OIL, means your seals are good…..
Plugs look clean burn…….now do your throttle body and MAF sensor……it will shock you the performance change.

Pretty sure those are the ones I’ve been recommended before…. That’s two for two and making them all the more appealing to me!!

 

I installed the SpiderTrax 1.25 in. spacers today. Haven’t noticed a ride quality difference. Also don’t have any fitment issues with stock wheels and 265/75/17s on a 3 inch lift for anyone looking at spacers….

 

Installed the Morimoto XB headlights tonight. Easy install, took about 2 hours but I haven't aimed them yet. DRL is insanely bright! I ordered them before @cashburn80 did his awesome review.. then he posted it.. and I got my new headlights 2 days later. LOL..
All and all happy with them though, they do not have the output of the "ultimate headlight mod" but my headlights were starting to yellow and get foggy so I choose these instead, REALLY updated the look of the truck.

 

Installed these guys. Now all the accessories connected to the battery aren't such a rat's nest and I can disconnect one without disconnecting them all.

 

I hate to be a negative Nancy, but that looks like a Short Circuit just waiting to happen.

Inadvertently drop or lay a wrench across those huge pieces of exposed metal and boom you have a nice fire on your hands.

At least develop some sort of cover over the positive clamp. As an electrician it makes me cringe just to look at it.

It is the medium size. It's the perfect size to sit up on top of the engine. I may pick up the smaller size the next time I'm at HF to have as well.

 

Thank you. I would hate to see you destroy or severely damage your truck or yourself because of those exposed terminals.

You should be fine just getting the positive covered with some type of insulating coverage.

 

I wonder if Plasti Dip would work. I'm envisioning surrounding the Positive terminal with a temporary cardboard mold, pouring in red Plasti Dip, letting it set up, then remove the cardboard.

I'd gently remove the now solid Plasti Dip coating and be able to put it on and off as necessary.

Thoughts?

 

Yeah, I was glad to see how clean the plugs were. All six of the plugs had the same appearance. I forgot to mention that I did clean the MAF sensor. Next on the list is cleaning the throttle body.

After changing the plugs and cleaning the MAF sensor, I did notice it had much more power and didn't feel as sluggish.

 

That should do just fine!
