Depend on how much gas you have maybe? I dunno. Dobinsons recommended getting it just in case and I never used it

The new downstream 02 sensor seemed to have cured my P0420 code. 500 miles in and havnt seen a CEL yet.

Also threw on a new OEM gas cap to help the above issue.

Filled up this morning and Avg my best tank yet. 16.7mpg.

2” foam mat from work. Used to ship large aerospace parts. They were throwing it out and I snagged a piece.

Hello Broverlanders. I’m in TX, but wondering if I could get your opinion. I got my wife a 2018 GX 460, and I like it so much I am thinking of trading my Tacoma in for a 2013 GX. I am planning on going up one size in tires and getting a 2 inch lift, but it will be a while. My question is will the GX in stock form do ok at my hunting lease? It’s on a big ranch and I will mostly be on ranch roads, but they can get rutted out and muddy. Some of them aren’t all that well maintained either. They can tear up trucks pretty quickly. The Tacoma handles them fine, but I worry about the low hanging body work on the GX. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi John - mechanically you will be fine. The body work could be a concern if you are climbing rocks and ledges, or traversing ruts that are a foot or more deep - but should otherwise also be okay. You can put the bigger tires on now, and then do the lift later. I put 255/80r17 (33") tires on my otherwise stock 2012 GX460 and it performs great offroad. There was slight rubbing on the side steps, so I took them off. I have since replaced them with rock sliders and am still picking out a lift. But to answer your question - stock, this is a very capable vehicle. I have not seen the obstacles you are going to be encountering, but if it is anything other than rock crawling, I think you should be okay.

you can't tell in the picture, but i'm dragging hitch in the photo above. it's a steep climb up these ledges. this is stock on 33" tires.

you should be good in the mud and dirt. tires will make the biggest difference. and delete the side steps (takes 30 minutes) - they hang pretty low.

Thanks! That's very helpful. I don't want to spend very much extra money right now, and the truck has almost new tires on them - Michelin Defender LTX M/S in 265/60/18 - so even though I know changing tires would be an immediate off-road improvement, I will probably stick with them. And, your truck looks great!

    Thanks! Glad to be helpful.

I do genuinely think you will be fine. This thing is really a truck with a tuxedo on. Tires would make the biggest difference - but those michelins are M/S rated, so they are probably okay as well.

Lower control arms needed to be swapped since the bushings were seized. Got one side done. Tomorrow doing to other side.
My big punch worked as a temporary support while I was waiting on the new lcas

Keep your old arms, just in case. On my buddy's lifted GX, the Moogs lasted 6 months. I put Moogs on mine when I lifted it back in Januaryish and so far so good. He's going to rebuild the OEMs with Whiteline bushings and sankei 555 ball joints.
