If you’ve held it long enough you’ve seen it go from 6 to 8+ 3 times this year already. Hopefully this is the time it stays going up so I can make good on the dec calls or exercise them in case they bring that div back

    I have the $20 calls...
I like to buy at the money or in the money because they nearly ALWAYS pay more than leaps...
For leaps to pay off you need asymptotic climbs (See GME in Jan) not 20 or 30% but 300%...
For example the 10/15 $YANG call (highest strike available) is $0.35. The $20 is $1.60.
That means for the $35 pays at $35.35. The $20 pays at $21.60
So for your equal value of calls to pay off you need yang to go to $40+ here is the breakdown on 1 $20 call vs 4 $35@0.35
    Code:

YANG PRICE 20 Call profit 35 call profit
    20 -160 -35 -140
    22 40 -35 -140
    24 240 -35 -140
    26 440 -35 -140
    28 640 -35 -140
    30 840 -35 -140
    32 1040 -35 -140
    34 1240 -35 -140
    36 1440 65 260
    38 1640 265 1060
    40 1840 465 1860
    41 1940 565 2260
    42 2040 665 2660
    43 2140 765 3060
    44 2240 865 3460
    45 2340 965 3860

But once yang goes over $40 you're killing it
BUT if it never breaks $35 you've lost the $1300+ from the $20 call

    First of all, that
    Code:
     Test
    is cool!

    I have a single 10/15 $21c currently.

Also, I guess YANG doesn't really have true LEAPS but the farthest they have out is April 14 2022.

A $20c at that date is around $4.40 which makes sense because you're paying for the time.

If I understand what you've explained, is why buying ATM or close is better, even if the premium is more (which is will be).\

My internal debate is to just spend more for the same $20 strike price that expires say Jan 21 2022 or April 14 2022 vs a 10/15 $20c or another $21c to average down.

Well here is a second edumacational about leveraged ETF...this is a 3x bear...it will lose value continuously over time and eventually they will reverse split it 1:10 to get the cost back up and continue swapping...You are gambling on a small spike in the near term. Think of it like a put. You really don't buy LONG puts on things unless they are dramatically over valued (on a squeeze) and you're not sure when it will come back down, but you know it will...
SO....You really don't want leaps/long calls on this because the majority of the price is time with very little value. They overcharge for the time value knowing it's going to decrease in intrinsic value as the shares degrade. Look at the performance of YANG over 5 years....and note the 1:10 revers split so the shares are 1/10 of what they were...

thanks for all the info that makes a lot of sense. So basically UVXY and YANG calls are better for short term plays. Theta doesn't seem too bad but yeah I'm sure they overcharge.

Guess I'll spend my money on $GME deep OTM Calls for November or later. I'm chasing that setup from before when it went from $40 to $350 in a few days. $200 to $4000 would be okay with me too lol

Damn, in the back of my mind I was wondering if China would try to manipulate how this plays out to inflict max damage on OUR economy.

I thought it seemed way out of character for them to try to contain their own fuck ups so as not to wreak havoc on world markets.

    economic warfare here we come!

eta: I may have waded into international politics inadvertently, don’t ban me tcbob!

I don't trust anyone or anything...if it were a sure thing the put/call volume would support it. One thing that makes me feel a little confident is the PUT volume for 10/15 $YANG...non-existent...Usually you run a spread...sell the call, buy the put and sit in the middle and cash your checks...The fact that people are buying calls and nobody is buying puts is unusual...
