    So people see you better, the same reason you have Deals in the headlights.

    just DRL not parking lights also?

    You in Canada? I think those have DRL always on and maybe when you switch to DRL it activates parking light also? Just speculating

    I was told that shouldnt be happening. When set to drl, the only light on should be the drl on your headlights. Tail light and license plate should not be on

    What's the dealer have to say about it?

    Does your truck have automatic headlights by chance?

    The year and model of your truck would be useful info in your profile or you posts about problems.

    But, I agree, what you describe does not sound right.

    Hopefully you've not done any wiring that the dealer can lay fault with.

    Will add it to my profile. I have a 19 tacoma trd offroad

    i added alpha rex luxx headlights almost a year ago and factory pop and lock tailgate. Those are the only wiring i have done.

    Still have the stock headlights? switch them back and see what happens.

    Chances are there is something crossed there.

    Rut ro...........

    That's where the diagnostics need to start. Hopefully you have the OEs and no cutting of the factory harness was required.

    DRLs are all about being seen, which by the way is important. I see this as a good thing that your taillights are on when DRLs are on. Feature, not a bug, enjoy the truck!

    My 2020 with stock OEM LED headlights also keeps on the tails and license plate light when running DRL

    Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    RYOM.
    There are (3) different light switches (M/Y 2021: A, B & C) on the stalk depending on the trim level of your Taco (M/Y 2021 O/M, pages 219-227).
    On my '21 TRD OR AC the LED DRLs require the switch to be set to Auto/DRL and will ONLY illuminate when in gear. If in Park the LEDs are not lit but the front parking lights are. There is NOT a switch position specifically for DRL.
    EDIT: Have never checked to see if the taillights were lit with the switch in the Auto/DRL position. EDIT 2: Don't particularly care if the taillights are on or off.

    Ya it toggles when the hand brakes go down. But im more concerned about my rear lights not the front drls.

    As an aside, as of September, Transport Canada has mandated that all new vehicles sold have:
    - Rear lights that automatically turn on with daytime running lights;
    - Headlights, rear lights and position lights that turn on automatically when the sun sets;
    - A dashboard that remains off to let the driver know that the lights are off.

    This is to get rid of the phenomenon known here as phantom cars, where somehow, it was legal to have DRL's and dash lights come on without tail lights coming on, thereby rendering them almost invisible from behind at night.
    Personally, I don't understand why all of a cars lights don't come on when the car is in gear, but then again, the laws are made by the same people who mandated a high mount third brake light for increased visiblity, but also think it is acceptable to have turn signals on a car 17" above the pavement.

    I dont know if or when that changed. I have a 2018. Tails most definitely do not light up with DRL.
