He is also very busy so it could be that he is fully booked the rest of the season.

Is that a rotopax on your truck. Do you like them. I was planning on getting some of the gas cans soon.

I noticed he’s booked as well. Last year I used 14 cans on my truck and decided it wasn’t something I wanted to do myself again. But now that he’s booked and not a whole bunch of places that offer FF, I’m considering buying the pro spray gun and gallon jugs.

Are you near Naperville? Maybe we could have our own FF party.

I wouldn't be opposed to it. If we could get a group of us to do it count me in. I've only done it once so I'm not really the most experienced. I might check to see if he might be able to fit me in. If not then I always like a good party.

Don’t get me wrong, I was very thorough. But I also don’t quite understand how people are using just 4-6 cans either. I honestly don’t see how it’s possible to adequately cover radiator supports, frame, under cab, door pockets, above spare tire, etc with just a few cans. I was blowing through the spray cans very quickly and it wasn’t dripping off much. :notsure:

Most likely I’m going to get the pro gun and give it another shot DIY. It can’t be worse than my experience last year with the spray cans. Worst case I still don’t like it and I saved myself $40 vs Dupage corrosion protection this year.

Now that I'm off work and thought about it more I think I might join you if that is okay with you. Looking at some of the responses it looks like you, possibly geekhouse23, and me are the only ones so far thinking about doing this.

I ordered a pro spray kit similar to the one shellshock linked. It has the pro spray gun, 360 wand attachment and 2 gallons of woolwax.

I have no idea how much I’d blow through per vehicle because I’ve never applied it this way before.

We could probably approach this a few different ways:
    1. For a TBD price, you just show up and I spray your truck.
    2. For a lower TBD price, you show up with your own FF/woolwax and I spray your truck.
    3. For a small donation to the spray gun cost, you come over with your own FF/woolwax and I drink beer while you spray your own truck.
I live in a townhouse with a 2 car garage, so I’m not sure if I could have a bunch of people coming over like DuPage corrosion protection. It’s a bit squished together and I want to be respectful of my neighbors and their kids who share a common drive.

    It's so, so messy.

I would never ever do that at my house or in my driveway. I would do it in the street. It's such a mess.

I'm just brainstorming but is there a street where there are no homes or possibly a parking area near by like within a reasonable distance. If there is either and a good amount of people show up we could park the trucks over there and walk or shuttle over to where we are spraying.

If I were to bring large tarps and put them under the trucks would that keep it cleaner. I also have a pop up canopy but I dont think some taller trucks will clear it.

I’ll report back on the viability of my driveway once I do my truck. Then I’ll have an idea for how long and how messy. My guess is I could get away with a weekend day where people come one at a time in hour increments. Then we avoid the parking problem.
