Ok, so I've been looking into purchasing the TRD catback for a little more rumble, but something not overly loud. I currently have a black tip on the stock exhaust that compliments the black and silver look of my truck nicely. I've noticed that TRD has a catback with a black exhaust tip, but says it only fits 2019 and above. I drive a 2018 SR5 Double Cab, short bed. I would assume it fits mine as well since they're all 3rd gens, but with each model year slight changes are made, so I don't want to spend $700 on something that may not fit properly. Anybody know for sure?

Also, finally about to do an aesthetic mod with the black lettering on my tailgate. Anybody have any advice for lettering that's easy to apply and won't fall off easily?

If you already have the tip you like just change the muffler if you want a little more sound. And FYI I have the black tipped TRD exhaust and the tip looked like shit after 1 winter.

Do you have a 5 foot bed or 6 foot bed? Just asking because on the parts site there's only one system listed with the black chrome.

When I was at Toyota last I asked if the black tip trd exhaust would fit my 2017 since it says 2019 and above. I figured the answer was yes but wanted to hear it from them. FWIW they said it would fit, but half those guys don’t know what they’re talking about at the dealership from my experience but in this case I would agree since the truck is essentially the same.

That's just my main concern. Most of the truck is essentially the same, but year to year they make minor tweaks and adjustments. I didn't want to spend money on an exhaust that's an inch off in measurement or something.

This is what mine looked like less than a year old. There's some dust on it in that pic but you can see all the pitting.

So you two are essentially saying the chrome is the way to go? I'm in Florida, so no snow or icy roads.

Not sure about the pipe, I’m running the MBRP and it’s loud!

…as far as the letters go, definitely TufSkinz.

Chrome is the way to go!!!! Just get the high temp semi or flat black then keep is painted or touched up .If you want to remove the paint later that's easy too. A little paint thinner and polish it back to a gloss. Love the TRD exhaust on my longbed, sounds deep and its going on 3 years old since I put it on and it sounds better with some age and getting broken in. Mine still looks new, but I only have 20k on the truck. Before I installed mine I polished all the pipes before I installed it and used a high heat clear paint and its still looks new.

I've heard the TRD sounds better with age and miles put on it. I'm in the same boat, nearing 3 years next month and only 28k on the truck.

Sounds so much dealer than before. I completely agree. I think mine has been in the rain 2 times.
