This is pretty much exactly what I was curious about. Just wanted to make sure if I drove with my camping gear and RTT for a couple hours that I wouldn’t be getting shock fade. And honestly my setup is pretty light in comparison. Just had to ask since it’s such a commitment. Thanks man

I realistically have never felt shock fade that was noticeable with stock or OME suspension let alone the fox setup. IMO the resis are more for looks unless it's a full race truck. I drive on washboard and do a bit of hill climbs and rock crawling so I'm not pushing them like someone doing hi speed Baja stuff. I did resis only in the rear due to the weight in bed.

Yeah I just did resi’s just in case since my load fluctuates. But I’m just trying to avoid going overkill. Sounds like the 2.0’s will serve me well. I’m basically going to do the same terrain as you it sounds like!

Would anyone have a lead on some fox bypasses for the total chaos +3.5 kit? Seems like they're sold out everywhere, and last I talked to accutune, they're not in production anymore...

Full race truck? Remote reservoir shocks offer a lot of options and can make your vehicle ride a lot better than shocks without a reservoir. They are definitely not for looks or for racing only applications. We do not tune IFP shocks, so your only option would be off the shelf valving from X company and hope it works well for your vehicle. Remote reservoir shocks can be tuned, rebuilt, include or be upgraded to have compression adjusters and will last much longer than a "throw-away" shock due to less operating pressures.

Short article of ours that covers some of the basics:

I've ran both and don't see really any difference but you keep selling your product.

    huh?

21" is our max recommended height, so that would be an ideal shock length at ride height. This is ideal for adequate amount of up/down travel for most applications

Quick question about spring weights on the adjustable 2.5. I’m trying to determine what weight and length of spring I should go with. I have quite a bit of steel on the truck; bumpers, skids, sliders, and winch. Total weight of the truck is 6500 lbs. Front axle weight 3120 lbs and rear axle weight is 3380 lbs. I do a fair bit of off-roading, so I’m more concerned with travel and movement of the suspension. Ride height isn’t a priority, but I am looking to move up to 35”s here in the near future. I’m leaning towards a 650 lbs spring but I’m starting to think that may be to heavy. 14” 600 lbs? Just out of curiosity what rear leafs is everyone running? I have OME hd leafs on now and they are starting to arch upward in the wrong direction.

    Stock-ish
Same setup weight wise probably. Running 35s, clapped dakars, and the stock 13" 600lb coils in front. Front end is maybe 1-1.5" over stock

Which coilovers exactly do you have or looking to get?
Based on the info provided, a 14" x 600lb would be safe. The more precise you can get on the amount of weight being added to the front of the truck, the better.

Deaver make some pretty good leaf packs that may be worth upgrading to when the time comes

I’m changing out my OME setup. I’m looking at putting on Fox 2.5 dsc adjustable shocks front and rear. I’m debating between 14” 600 lbs and the 650 lbs spring for the coils, I don’t want a stiff ride nor to soft that I lose a lot of height and stability (I’m not running a sway bar). I’m unsure what a stock Tacoma weighs on the front. The weight of 3120 is the weight of the front of the truck with me and camping gear, weighed on a truck scale. So Id imagine subtracting the weight of 16” method 305’s, 33” duratracs, and the stock weight would get me pretty close. I’m guessing at added weight to the front; cbi steel bumper 200 lbs, warn 10k synthetic rope winch 75-100 lbs, all RCI skids and sliders 400 lbs. The rear weighed 3380 on the scale. Rear of truck has softopper probably less the 75lbs, RCI fuel tank and differential skid, CBI high clearance bumper with swing out with spare jack fuel cans 350-450 lbs, sleeping platform 300 lbs, tools spares recovery gear and camping gear I’m guessing 300 lbs. I currently have OME heavy duty leaf springs and they have arched the wrong way. I have ordered deaver stage 3, but I’m afraid they may be to heavy. Just wasn’t sure if there was another leaf company or size I missed.
Thank you for help and input.

I got my upgraded shocks on my Pro.

Unfortunately, it's a little disappointing. I did the install on Saturday/Sunday so it has had several days to settle.

    Ground to fender:
    • Driver Front (Before) 34 3/4" - (After) 34 3/4" - Gain: zero
    • Passenger Front (Before) 34 3/4" - (After) 35 3/8" - Gain: 1/4"
    • Driver Back (Before) 35 3/4" - (After) 37 1/8" - Gain: 1 3/8"
    • Passenger Back (Before) 36" - (After) 37 1/4" - Gain: 1 1/4"
    Hub to fender:
    • Driver Front (Before) 20 1/2" - (After) 20 3/4" - Gain: 1/4"
    • Passenger Front (Before) 20 1/2" - (After) 21 3/8" - Gain: 7/8"
    • Driver Back (Before) 21 1/2" - (After) 23 3/8" - Gain: 1 7/8"
    • Passenger Back (Before) 21 1/2" - (After) 23 1/4" - Gain: 1 3/4"
You can see that the back is roughly what I expected. The front is pretty much a net gain of a quarter inch on driver and just under an inch on the passenger. The measurements were both taken with roughly a half tank of gas.

My truck does have an obvious rake now.

    IMG_4682.jpg

I did get them from @AccuTune Offroad. Any suggestions?

We need more info, what shocks/leaf springs etc did you upgrade to?

Did you already reach out to our sales team about this?
