My truck hasn't seen anything near 17 in over a year. I'm at like 15.5 mpg and I have no idea why. I don't drive a million miles per hour either

    You're welcome!

DTC resets can be done by anyone with an OBD tool. Learned Value resets are more of a workshop function. If you look in my Feelers thread, there is a list of folks who will do stuff like that for free.

That is purely an estimate. A very conservative one. It will change as you drive and get more accurate toward the end of the tank. I wouldn't use it for any kind of real trip planning unless you like to stop more often.

Of course, like noted above, there is typically 2gal left when the Range goes to 0mi.

Damn... I must live right. My average since new, 136 fill-ups, is 20.98 MPG or 11.2 l/100Km with an almost exact 50/50 split of highway/city driving.

When i usually fill up i put in 16 gallons, or so and get a reading around 380 miles or more. 280 miles seems awful low.

I'm at 20 also. There just a bunch of variable and inconsistencies between Tacos.

Ignore the computer estimator, trust the miles driven divided by actual gallons used to go those miles. That is the actual MPG.

Most of my day to day driving is short trips in the city, so when I do finally take a road trip, mine shows similar absurd range of ~280 miles. I've found this to just be completely inaccurate. I wouldn't worry too much. On the highway, you'll likely be able to go MUCH further.

It's sad that a 2020 car couldn't get this right...
My 2013 Honda's distance to empty is fairly accurate.

Hope this gets better and will try to get it reset.

It’s impossible to get an accurate number when you fill up. The more stop and go driving you do, the faster the number will drop. More highway driving and the DTE number may not drop as fast as the distance you’re covering. The truck can’t predict how you’re going to drive for the next couple hundred miles. It’s only an estimate. My wife’s Mazda CX-5 seems to be quite accurate with its calculations. If I floor it up a steep highway on-ramp, the DTE can drop 5 km, even though I only drove maybe 0.4 km. I guess my point is, just because the number is 280 miles when you fill up, doesn’t mean that will be the actual range for that tank of fuel.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
This is the only thing I rely on for Distance to Empty (the part on the bottom):
    upload_2021-9-23_17-40-16.jpg

I reset the 'B' trip odometer at each fill-up. Best miles between fill-ups is 370 miles.

Did you just buy the truck? If so, give it some time. Your truck is probably still used to it’s previous owners driving habits. If he/she drove like a bat out of hell and you just bought the truck, thats probably your answer. If you bought it from a dealership, also consider how many stop-go test drives it had before you bought it. It’s a possibility.

How many tanks have you ran through? On a couple of very long distance road trips, I noticed that the range is a kindof rolling average. For example when I started my journey with a trailer to FL from NJ, my range read in the mid 300s. By the time I ended the trip (with about 5 or 6 fillups getting 11-14MPGs), my range showed in the mid 200s. Then, on the way back up, my distance to empty crawled back up after the 3 tanks I used. (20-21MPG).

It's really supposed to be a guestimate and it's most accurate at the bottom of the tank.

Also I slowly got better mileage until about the 15k mark. You might also see the same.

10mpg in the city? You've got a heavy foot my friend! I'm sure most people don't think they floor it that much in town, but I won't comment on that. Lighten up on the gas pedal in town when the lights are close, and remember the range estimate takes into account your recent mileage, maybe even your current tank average at best? Keep a pen and paper in the glove box and keep track of your mileage at every fuel up for a month or two and see where ya land. No cause for alarm.

One thing I have noticed is it fluctuates between different brands of gas . Maybe you got some crappy gas .
