So if I follow the install instructions on the website and splice into the window switch connectors, the new mirror DRLs will dim when the headlights come on? The only benefit of the DRL harness is to avoid splicing and the ability to turn the mirror lights off with the headlight stalk, is that correct? I leave my headlights on auto almost 100% of the time and if the mirror lights will dim when the headlights come on, I don't think I'd need to bother with running wires to the headlight.

If done through the window switch circuit, it will dim one step before the low beams, which will be when the parking lights come on.

Hmm so in that case they would never be at full brightness since I leave my lights on auto and the parking lights are always on? The DRLs on my headlights don't dim until the low beams come on. That's basically the same functionality I want with the new mirror DRLs.

Unsure if Auto is different, since I do not have Auto headlights. On my headlight stalk, it is Off, DRL, Parking, Low Beam then High Beam.

But parking lights should be the same as the interior and dash illumination circuit. So when your interior accent and dash lights come on, that is when the DRLs will dim. So on Auto, they should be full bright during the day, then switch over to dim during the night.

@MESO i know it was my fault to begin with when i did not put in the note about the 2 pin connectors for v2 puddle lights. But i turned in a ticket about it and got an email from Austin saying my order was updated. My v5s got delivered today but it didn’t come with the 2 pin connectors i requested. Thank you so much
P.S. loving how the v5s looks and exceptional packaging.

You need a way to interrupt the Parking signal to the pods, to only send its signal AFTER low beams are selected.

How are your lights always on auto AND parking lights are always on?

The stalk controls auto AND parking lights.....it can only be in one position.

Where do I run the red and white wires if I got the harness for the v5?

Also, where is the DRL connection?

Well, installed, tested, and removed. They wont work for my use :(

The strobe controller just doesnt work with them, they flash on, stumble, then turn off when I try to use the strobe system. I was thinking, ok I can live with that, they look great and are super bright for normal turn signal use, but there is a noticable delay in them turning on compared to the stock turn signals. So it ends up not being in sync with the rest of the turn signals.

Im thinking its the controller board that controls the different turn signal patterns that is introducing the delay. On all 3 settings there is the slight delay. Then the controller board is also causing the issues with the strobe controller from being able to send the flash patterns (the signal on is faster than the controller can react)

Anyone want to buy some amber/amber lights? brand new, only 1 installed for 2 minutes and removed.

Got mines yesterday. Will install next week once I return from vacation. Had a small issue with my order and Meso was able to remedy. Outstanding service once again from @MESO!

I tried looking around but I couldn't find any step by step instructions for the V5. I'm assuming we should try and follow the LE Turns instructions as a best bet?

I was able to get them working last night but now my puddle lights and dome lights aren't working. I checked the fuse and it was blown. Any time I try to put a new fuse in it blows. Any ideas?

I connected the red and black wires from the two mirror lights and then ran those wires to the DRL harness at the headlight. It was pretty simple wiring so I'm not sure what I did to cause the dome circuit to fail.

Did you damage any wires in either of the door boots?

I don't think so but it's definitely a possibility. I'm going to check my wiring again in a little bit. I think the DRL bright and dim wires might be just barely making contact with each other so I'm going to rewire those connections.

a wire for the puddles either got pinched/shorted or disconnected. I’ve seen it happen where it goes through the the hole in mirror into the door itself. (when you tighten the 10mm bolts down it was pinched) but the headlight plug and play harness should have no association with the puddle circuit. Totally separate.

Ah I didn't think to check that! I thought I was pretty careful putting everything back together last night but I'll check that out first.

Here's a pic of the lights working though!
