Gallagher Lake Oct 2-3 bring your jammies

Figured there was enough chat about doing this next weekend we should create an actual thread about it.

I’m heading over Saturday morning and can meet up anywhere from Bothell to North Bend depending upon who is interested. One of my buddies is going over on Friday night and they plan on doing Van Epps in the morning and then going back up Fortune Creek. I’m taking my 5 year old and planning on staying the night.

 

Please check with the ranger station before you go. they are doing large prescribed burns outside of Cle Elum. No idea which FS roads are open. There may also still be wildfire activity in the area.

 

Sounds like the friend of a friend who is organizing the other trip lives in Cle Elum and is going to send my buddy some updates in the morning.

 

sounds good. sorry to be papa bear, just want everyone to have fun and be safe. in case anyone is not familiar with high alpine environments, even in early fall it can be well below freezing at night and snow would not be out of the ordinary. bring lots of warm clothes and layer.

 

tentatively in, not sure if I can swing an overnight but a day drive should be doable

I'm down for this. I would be happy to do Friday and Saturday nights. Whatever works though.

I could meet up with you on the way. I'll have my 4runner friend too. Planning to camp overnight to Sunday. I'm down for any side trails on Saturday or Sunday.

You’re considering wheeling with us in the PNW? That would be quite the drive out here! For future would you be rocking the Tundra?

I did this trail earlier this year, the mosquitoes were horrible after sun down. I don’t know they will be that bad this late in the season but be prepared.
