Hard to remove the gas if you can’t even get the gas cap off. Different valves I know but if it were simple it would already be done. Their hand wringing should be very well practiced at least.

Just looked it up and it was just over 2 weeks at 9 knots. Even longer if you drew the run to Murmansk.

Sounding like the Hydrazine off-load will happen in early to mid October meaning a '21 Starliner launch is all but off the table.

Sounds like one option involves bringing up a different service module from a future mission to use on this capsule, does the infrastructure there allow that to happen simultaneously, or would that second SM still be waiting for that prop offload?

From the ARS RR this week:
The Virgin Group and Branson sold a combined $800 million worth of stock during a seven week period when shareholders were in the dark about the incident and subsequent actions. The news was only revealed by an article in The New Yorker published on Sept. 1.

    Damn…
Prolly 2 federal investigations going on now.

Second would still be waiting would be my guess. They have other modules at C3PF, hard to say what is flight ready and what is training.

By the time SLS and Orion are launch ready we will probably have a hover car to take the astronauts to the pad.

    Baddest of the bad assess!

Only astronaut certified to fly 4 spacecraft (when they list Apollo in the tweet- he flew the CM on Apollo 10 beating Mike Collins as the first to be the loneliest astronaut, and Commanded (flew) the LM on Apollo 16).

A childhood ‘hero’ of mine when growing up- wish I had the chance to meet him in person.

Woah! I was skeptical that was real but looking at the "surprising passengers" link I'm amazed. Pretty sure if I saw that from ~38k I'd need to change my britches!

Yeah, it’s crazy we’re still discovering this kinda stuff on our own planet.

Makes me wonder if they’re a new phenomenon or have evolved recently…

Right?! Seems odd if this is something that's been happening for centuries and we're just now seeing/documenting it in the last few years. What is the difference between this and sprites seen from space?

How much R&D went into the TPS around those pivot points of the fins?!

Not new, just rare. My understanding is there's little difference between sprites and jets. Slightly different heights of lightning and different densities of clouds and other atmospheric gases.
